The name "Taste Lover" is very special, literally has a strong Chinese style, showing the Sichuan people's pursuit of taste. But when I read it, I vaguely have some feeling of foreign transliteration, and I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, this store did have a special group of "foreign diners" decades ago, who were the air force stationed during the War of Resistance.
The founder of the taste-loving is Ma Xiufeng, a Hechuan man, born in 1915. In 1931, he went from Hechuan to Suining to join his uncle Ma Yishan, who ran the tavern, and began his culinary career. The "Majia Tavern" opened by his uncle is located in The Great North Street of Suining County, which has been a prosperous area in the city since the Qing Dynasty, and has been built as the central business district of the old city in the past ten years.
Majia Tavern is a typical Sichuan-style cold pub, mainly operating high-quality liquor, while providing cold mixing, pickled brine and other liquor side dishes and peanuts, melon seeds, beans and other snacks. At the beginning of Ma Xiufeng's entry into the store, he followed his aunt and aunt to scoop wine and miscellaneous things on the counter, because he was diligent and flexible, he learned many business doorways, which was deeply appreciated by the second elder.

A few years later, uncle Tang handed over the Ma family tavern to Ma Xiufeng to run. At that time, there were nearly ten taverns in Great North Street, and there were two sources of liquor in business, one was self-produced and sold by its own liquor, and the other was to sell liquor from others. Majia Tavern sells Mianzhu wine, because the port is in charge, the wine is superior, the food is delicious, and the Ma family has been operating honestly, and the business has gradually flourished.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Suining quickly became an important wartime material distribution center and strategic location because it was located in the geographical center of the Sichuan Basin, southeast and Chongqing, west of Chengdu, developed water and land transportation, and a small number of military airports at that time, so it quickly became an important wartime material distribution center and strategic place, and 39 government agencies and 14 financial institutions moved into Suining successively. A large number of outsiders also made Suining's catering industry show prosperity in a specific period.
In order to take care of the needs of different diners, in the early 1940s, Ma Xiufeng opened a flavor-loving noodle shop in Dabei Street, mainly engaged in authentic Noodle Food varieties with Sichuan flavor, taking into account the tastes of the North and South, and the location is probably between today's Moore Spring and Xinhua Bookstore, still occupying a prosperous location.

In the old days, Suining's noodle industry was quite developed, but there were more than 100 kinds of noodle food in the small county, and the noodles that were addicted to taste and business were particularly famous. Its best noodles include cuttlefish stewed chicken noodles, eel noodles, mixed sauce noodles, rib noodles, vegetarian noodles, silver fish meat noodles, three fresh noodles, chicken noodles and so on. Eel noodles are made from local yellow eels and carefully roasted with Sichuan flavor, and this noodle was popular until the late 1980s.
Silver fish meat noodles are made of lean meat and silver fish, first the meat shredded meat with ingredients stir-fried and dried, and then add silver fish and fresh soup to boil, the sea flavor is strong, salty and umami long. In 1939, due to the needs of the War of Resistance, Suining built a new Nanba airport, where the famous Fourth Air Force Brigade was stationed. The Suining County Chronicle records an air battle that took place in June 1940, when 63 Japanese planes flew over Suining to bomb the city and the airport, and 6 fighters at Suining Airport took off to meet the enemy and successfully shot down the Japanese aircraft leader.

In the late 1950s, the post-venture taste addiction continued to operate on Great North Street, during which it was renamed People's Restaurant. In October 1985, in order to better protect local specialty food, Suining Catering Service Company held a symposium with people from all walks of life to develop famous snacks with flavors, and discussed countermeasures to reshape the business quality of shops such as Taste Lover and Maicun, and formed a special report, but it was later discontinued.
In 1986, the storefront was leased to a department store and converted into a people's mall, and in the late 1980s it was closed due to the demolition of Suizhou Road.
