Tens of thousands of Palestinians protested at the border
Recently, the move of the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem has triggered mass protests and demonstrations by Palestinians and clashed with Israeli soldiers in many places. As of May 15, the conflict had killed at least 60 Palestinians and injured more than 2,800, according to Palestinian health ministry officials.
Amid the cold numbers, an 8-month-old baby girl named Lyra suffocated from inhaling tear gas in a tent erected for demonstrators.
Relatives gathered around Lyra's bedside and wept, and Lyra's mother gently held her daughter's hand, grieving and unable to help herself. Lyra's young body was wrapped in snow-white swaddling and silent.
According to Lyra's grandmother, on the 14th, Lyra inhaled tear gas in the tent set up for the demonstrators, and it was too late to treat her after being sent to the hospital.
On the 15th, in the Gaza Strip, a large number of Palestinians left their homes to attend the funeral of Lyra, an eight-month-old baby girl.
Her father hugged her and gave her one last ride.
Lyra's father, Anwar, said that the Israelis were responsible for this, the Israelis killed my daughter, she died of tear gas, they also killed other children and young people, my daughter is only 8 months old, what is wrong with her?
It is reported that the 15th is also the 70th Palestinian "Disaster Day", on the same day, the Palestinian general strike, for the Gaza Strip victims lowered the flag to half-mast for 3 days.
