In the 1980s and 1990s, Zhuzhou had 16 food processing industries, including grain and oil, candy, pastries, beverages, wine, slaughter, and meat. Gantian medicinal sugar
Gantian medicinal sugar originated in the Ming Dynasty and enjoyed a high reputation in the former Qing Dynasty, which lasted for more than 400 years without fading. In 1982, Hunan Province officially listed it as a local famous specialty.
