"Hahaha, Daddy, you buried Mom in the sand!"
Blue sky, blue sea, sandy beaches, 44,400 square kilometers of jurisdictional sea area, 6,630 kilometers of coastline... The vast sea area and rich resources have become the unique development conditions for Zhejiang.

Today (June 8) is World Oceans Day, and hour reporters come to the beautiful coastal city of Ningbo. On the golden beach of Meishan Bay in Beilun, we encounter not only the invincible sea view, but also the infinite happiness and joy of tourists playing, and the beauty of all this is not easy to come by.
On the same day, the 13th "World Oceans Day and National Ocean Publicity Day" theme event sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources of Zhejiang Province was held in Meishan Port, Beilun, Ningbo.
"Protecting marine biodiversity, harmonious coexistence between man and nature". Focusing on the theme of this year's Ocean Day, Zhejiang launched the initiative of "Caring for the Blue, We Act Together", calling on the general public to start from the side, adhere to green life, green consumption, no waste, no pollution, and make due contributions to the protection of the ocean.
Protecting marine biodiversity and promoting harmonious coexistence between man and nature are things that Zhejiang has been working hard for in recent years.
As early as 1990, the Wenzhou Nanji Islands National Marine Nature Reserve was established, which is also the earliest national marine reserve established in Zhejiang. Over the years since its establishment, the reserve has been cracking down on illegal acts such as fishing and digging in the core area of the reserve and the buffer zone, strictly prohibiting any foreign fishing boats from illegally fishing in the waters of the Nanji Protected Area, and strictly supervising tourism development and the production and living activities of island residents.
Mangroves are not red, they are forests that grow on the coastline and can withstand typhoons and protect marine life. Zhejiang is the northern edge of China's mangrove cultivation, and mangroves have also undergone an ecological restoration process from existence to nothing, and then out of nothing. In 2005, the Wenzhou Ximen Island Marine Special Protection Area was officially approved, and large-scale mangroves began to be planted on the beaches in the reserve.
In 2008, the State Oceanic Administration approved the establishment of the Ningbo Xiangshan Yushan Archipelago National Marine Ecological Special Protection Zone, with a total area of 57 square kilometers.
In recent years, one of the more important measures for the protection of marine ecology is the national "Blue Bay" rectification action that has been underway since the "13th Five-Year Plan".
Since 2016, wenzhou (dongtou national marine park core area) blue bay remediation action project, Zhoushan blue bay remediation action project, Ningbo blue bay remediation action into the central island and sea area protection fund plan, received 1 billion yuan of central subsidies, Zhejiang into the "blue bay" era, once dirty and chaotic shoreline environment has been rapidly changed.
Taking the Wenzhou Dongtou Islands as an example, after the renovation, earth-shaking changes have taken place, after breaking the embankment to open the sea, open up the migration channel of fish and shrimp such as perch, anchovy and eel at the mouth of the Oujiang River, and form a trench to create a new breeding habitat for fish, shrimp and shellfish, which plays a vital role in protecting marine biodiversity and restoring the marine ecosystem of the Oujiang estuary.
In 2018, the "Three-year Action Plan for The Improvement and Restoration of the Coastline of Zhejiang Province" was introduced. After three years of efforts, Zhejiang has completed the restoration of 342.58 kilometers of coastline, including 185.06 kilometers of ecological shoreline of the mainland and 88.24 kilometers of ecological shoreline of Zhoushan Island.
In improving the water quality of the near shore, Zhejiang has also made many trade-offs and efforts, including reducing the offshore sewage outlet and shutting down some offshore polluting enterprises.
Since 2017, Zhejiang has reduced the number of sewage outlets into the sea from 462 to 122. The improvement of near-shore water quality has played a key role in the protection of marine biodiversity to a certain extent.
In May this year, Zhejiang completed the country's first provincial-level comprehensive evaluation index system for marine ecology, setting a Benchmark for Zhejiang for the comprehensive control of marine ecology for coastal provinces across the country.
The blue sea and blue sky and sandy beaches you want have been launched, and the protection of marine biodiversity, Zhejiang will always be on the road.
