There were 25 poor households in Datian Village with a total of 58 people, and they have now been lifted out of poverty, but the results of poverty alleviation still need to be consolidated. How to consolidate the results of poverty alleviation? The development of the macadamia nut industry is pinned on hope.
Daejeon village is in a subtropical monsoon climate, the terrain is mostly hilly, the average altitude is 400m, the average annual temperature is 28 °C, the annual precipitation is more than 1500mm, and the village also has rich land resources to be developed. Cheng Zhoujian and the village cadres deliberated repeatedly, and finally everyone agreed to develop the macadamia nut industry.
In May 2019, after many consultations by Cheng Zhoujian and others, Datian Village successfully launched in-depth cooperation with Runjing Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd., and the village collective invested 1.8 million yuan to establish a nut planting base.
"The global market demand for macadamia nuts is large, and macadamia nuts are expensive in the international market, and they have remained high for a long time, with great potential to get rich." Cheng Zhoujian went door-to-door to publicize the planting potential and market income prospects of macadamia nuts, only to fully explore and stimulate the subjective initiative of villagers' production, and actively guide villagers to sign planting agreements with the village collective as a household. This new model of economic development of "cooperatives + companies + farmers" has also won unanimous recognition from everyone.
As of September 2021, 186 families in Daejeon Village have signed a macadamia nut cultivation agreement with the village collective, accounting for 60% of the total number of households in the village, and the nut planting area is about 180 mu, and it is expected to benefit more than 1,000 people.
At present, the fruit seedlings rooted in the field land are growing well, some fruit trees have been fruited, and The village has created a professional planting technical team of 5 people and established 4 economic cooperatives. Cheng Zhoujian said, "Letting the rural revitalization strategy take root and leading the people of Datian Village to the road to prosperity is my biggest goal during my tenure. ”
