In 1570, Motokame followed the peace agreement with Otomo and withdrew from Kyushu to concentrate on cleaning up the revived Izumo Niko. The pressure on the foreign enemy was reduced, and Ōtomo Muneyoshi was moved to completely destroy the Ryuzoji Temple, which he had stolen from him. Just when he was hesitating, Longxin's mother, Qing Yanni, made a decision: horizontal vertical is a death, it is better to die a painful death.
At dawn on August 20, Ryūzōji Takanobu and Nabeshima Naoshige led a full-scale assault on the Ōtomo Honjin at Imayama, and the drunken Ōtomo soldiers were overwhelmed by the battle, and Ōtomo himself was killed on the spot by Ōtomo Nobukatsu, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Ryūzōji Temple. The Great Friend Army collapsed on the road, and countless casualties were lost.

In September of the sixth year of Tenshō (1578), more than 40,000 members of the Ōtomo Army, led by the same Catholic general Tahara Kinehide, crossed the Ear River and invaded the Dorn Domain... Taiping Chronicles Forty-Eight: Ōtomo's attendant Yi Tong Fell into several works
The first military target of the Southern Expedition was Takashiro, where Yamada Arisonobu was stationed, and there were only five hundred defenders in the city. On October 12, Ōtomo set up his own position on the heights of the Chehara River to sweep up the strongholds outside the castle, cut off the water sources in the city, and prepare for the siege. Shimazu Ikuchi's reinforcements entered Takagi Castle, still looking like ants compared to tens of thousands of enemy soldiers outside the castle.
Ōtomo attacked the castle three times, but was repulsed by the city soldiers three times. Tahara stationed himself under the castle, camped for several miles, and adopted military tactics to besiege the city, hoping to fight a decisive battle with Shimazu's main force here. Otomo's army competed for a feast of wine and drunkenness, as if the judgment of the Lord was imminent.
Shimazu Yoshihisa's 30,000 main force departed from Kagoshima by land and sea and entered Hyuga Sachihara Castle on November 1. On the night of November 10, the Shimazu troops set up an ambush on the road and prepared for the decisive battle.
The Shimazu clan's usual tactic is called "Fishing No No Fu", which presumably means dividing the army into three teams, two of which ambush on the left and right of the road, called the Wild Ambush. The Ōtomo general Tahara Kinken was unable to stop his subordinates from moving, and the whole army gradually fell apart.
On the night of the eleventh day, although the Otomo Army was in danger, its strength was still there, and during the military discussion, Tahara Kinken advocated sticking to help, after all, the 50,000-strong legion, that is, 50,000 pigs, could not be captured in three or two days. The pioneer Tianbei Zhenzhou did not agree with this negative countermeasure and demanded that the superior forces be concentrated to break through Shimazu's fishing team and gain the initiative on the battlefield. Tahara could not suppress the bullet, and in the end there was only the division of troops, and the positive and negative strategies actually turned into the worst decision at the end, and the generals attending the meeting were shocked and knew that the general trend had gone.
On the twelfth day, the sky was light, and Tianbei Zhenzhou did not wait to coordinate with friendly troops and began to cross the river alone. Not to be left behind, Saburō led a team across the river, followed by many generals such as Yoshihiro Jinshin, Saito Jinshi, Usuki Jinji, Kamiike Kanmori, Kakuma Ishizō, and the mighty Otomo Army flew over the Ear River and aimed at Takagi Castle. None of the above-mentioned martial artists survived the battle, and all of them died in one day.
The strength of the two armies in the north and south of the Ogawa River was actually around 40,000 or 50,000, and the difference was not very much, but the Shimazu side assembled into a formation and attacked in sections, while the Otomo side fought separately, and the front line was long. After the Battle of Ogawa, many of Ōtomo's generals died on the battlefield, and the flowers fell helplessly, and the rain and wind blew at dusk. Tachibana Michiyuki, Yoshihiro Kanri, and Usuki Kansumi led 15,000 men to deploy in Tatarahama to kick off the largest battle of Tadarahama on the Japanese island of Kyushu. In the fourteenth year of Tenshō (1586), Shimazu Tadao led 20,000 reinforcements to the Shimazu Army on the expedition to Chikuhi. Zhongchang gathered a total of more than 50,000 people to besiege Zhuzi, and Zhuzi Guangmen was defeated and surrendered. Seeing the overwhelming strength of the enemy, Tachibana Muneshige decided to defend the castle and abandon his support for Takahashi. After several deliberations, Takahashi shoun personally led 763 soldiers to defend Iwaya Castle, and allocated the rest of the army to Takahashi Tongzen, the heir stationed in Homan Castle, waiting for reinforcements from Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Shimazu's Chikuzen Raiders
Before the war, the Tachibana family and Toyotomi reinforcement Kuroda Takataka sent envoys to persuade Takahashi Toyohashi to retreat to Homan Castle. Takahashi said that he could not indulge Shimazu's wanton annexation of Kyushu and insisted on holding Iwaya Castle with 700 strong men.
On July 14, Shimazu's 50,000-strong army began to attack the city with tens of thousands of people, crushing a hundred people with tens of thousands, only to find nothing under the rain of iron cannons of the defenders, and to touch a full head in vain. Shimazu sent Shinnaga Tadamoto to persuade him to surrender, and after Xu Yizhu built the whole country, Takahashi Shoun categorically refused. The loyalty of the samurai cannot be easily seduced.
On July 27, Tadanaga Shimazu launched his final attack. Due to the exhaustion of supplies and the bitter fighting for several days, the Iwaya defenders were unable to resist the Shimazu army that took turns to attack the city. After four hours of fighting, the enemy army killed Honmaru, and Takahashi Shoyun committed suicide by breaking his abdomen and enjoying Chinese New Year's Eve nine years old. The Battle of Iwaya came to an end.
In this battle, almost all of the 760 people on the Takahashi side were killed, while the Shimazu side killed 27 generals and more than 3,000 soldiers, and the price was extremely heavy. Most importantly, the Battle of Iwaya shattered the myth of the Shimazu Army's invincible first strength, dashing its strategic vision of unifying Kyushu before the arrival of toyotomi's army.
Ōtomo Muneyoshi personally went to Osaka to meet Withyotomi Hideyoshi and asked to subdue Shimazu, and Hideyoshi gave the order to Kyushu to the front, taking the name of the daimyōs of the Western Kingdom and Shikoku as the vanguard. The Shimazu family of Tansei Island and Tojigawa was victorious in the First World War, and the Toyotomi side of the Nagamasa Ibu Genbu's concubine Nobu was killed in battle, and the commander Sengoku Hidehisa fled all the way to Awaji Island, almost like a guinea pig.
Shimazu's victory over the battlefield angered Hideyoshi, and the following year he personally conquered Kyushu and completely crushed Shimazu's ambition to dominate the Western Sea. And all this is nothing more than the life and death of Iwaya Castle Takahashi Shoyun.
