When we talk about "public aesthetics," we inevitably talk about beauty. What is beauty? Everyone's definition is very different, but there is no book, a calculation method can accurately answer.

The acquisition of beauty not only comes from deliberate learning, but more often comes from everything that is naturally perceived in the public space.

Recently, the "Public Aesthetics Project" was officially launched at the Deji Art Museum.

The theme of the first phase of the event is: "Gao Yun's Dialogue with He Jiaying - Chinese Memory in the History of Art After 70 Years". Two top artists in the Chinese painting world, Gao Yun and He Jiaying, launched a wonderful dialogue about art, about the times, and about beauty!

In 1983, Gao Yun, who was in his early twenties, created the comic strip "Luo Lun Rush examination", which won the gold medal in the Sixth National Fine Arts Exhibition, leading the trend of line drawing comic strips and attracting the admiration of young He Jiaying. At the exhibition, He Jiaying's contemporary brush strokes such as "Rice Fat's Mother-in-Law" and "Nineteen Autumns" also left an indelible impression on Gao Yun. Talent and masterpieces make two young painters who have never met each other admire each other and have a heart to heart.

In 1987, the China Stamp Corporation asked Gao Yun to design a set of Xu Xiake stamps, and Gao Yun also recommended He Jiaying to design a commemorative stamp for the 110th anniversary of Liao Zhongkai's birth. "It turned out that we were all standing on the opposite side of the scenery admiring each other, and after meeting, the mood of each other's love was indescribable." Recalling the story of that year, the two were very emotional.

For artists born in the 1950s, the early artistic nourishment was relatively barren. Gao Yun recalled: "Comic strips and stamps are the memories of our generation, carrying our initial perception of beauty. "In a relatively barren environment, the concept of artistic creation is also exceptionally pure. Gao Yun could have repeatedly ridden a bicycle for more than twenty kilometers in order to read a picture book, and when He Jiaying was in middle school, he accidentally got a book on perspective, and if he got the most precious treasure, he turned over and

"Because we didn't have a lot of choices about life at that time, we painted honestly and seriously pursued art, and our state of mind was very quiet." In today's era of information explosion, we must always remind ourselves to return to our original intentions, let our hearts be clean, quiet, and strive for excellence, and believe that kung fu pays off. Keeping the original intention in loneliness is the artist's greatest wealth. He Jiaying said.
