The ancient city of Anqing

In June 1915, Chen Duxiu returned to Shanghai from Japan to organize the "New Youth", which opened the prelude to the New Culture Movement. He received a letter from his hometown, and when he learned that the Yannian brothers were eager to leave Anqing and go outside to study, he immediately expressed his approval and took them to Shanghai. As a result, 17-year-old Chen Yannian and 13-year-old Chen Qiaonian bid farewell to the township until they spilled blood on the execution ground, devoted themselves to their faith, and never returned to their hometown in Anqing.
