The Manchu (Jurchen) Guanyan clan has two main sources: 1. The surviving family of the Jin Dynasty. This completed Yan clan was a descendant of the Completed Yan clan who followed the Completed Yan A-bone into the Central Plains to establish the Jin Kingdom. Because this batch of Yan clan learned the Central Plains Han culture, it was called "mature female truth". Later, after the fall of the Jin Dynasty, some of the Yan clans remained in the Central Plains and some returned to the northeast. Later, during the Nurhaci period, this batch of Completed Yan clans joined the Eight Banners of Manchuria.

2, "born daughter True", this batch of completed Yan clan did not establish a big gold with the finished Yan A bone, but stayed in the northeast to continue to live a tribal fishing and hunting life. Later, some of this batch of Yan clans also joined the Eight Banners.

"Shengnu Zhen" includes not only the Yan clan, but also other Manchu surnames. Even after the founding of the Qing Dynasty, there were still various surnames of the Jurchens in the mountains of the northeast, who continued to live a primitive tribal fishing and hunting life.
