Where is Kenanpo? Even if you are given a map of Shanxi Province, it will be difficult to find for a while and a half. Located 30 kilometers northwest of the county seat of Ji county, adjacent to Hukou Waterfall in the west, Kenanpo is about 1 kilometer long from east to west and about 0.5 kilometers wide from north to south. From 1940 to 1945, Yan Xishan was stationed here with the headquarters of the commander of the Second Theater, the Shanxi Provincial Government, the National Revolutionary Comrades Association and other leading organs.

Li Zhongyuan, born in March 1925 in Huaiyang, Henan, served as the secretary of Yan Xishan's attendant, and after the founding of New China, served as deputy secretary general of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, director of the Literature and History Materials Committee, and president of the Shanxi Socialist College. In the summer of 2005, a reporter from the "Unity Daily" of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee interviewed Li Zhongyuan and asked him to introduce Yan Xishan's daily life during the war.

Originally, the original name of Ke nanpo was "Nancunpo", and Nancun was harmonized with "Nancun", and Yan Xishan felt unlucky, and changed his name to "Kenanpo", which means that Kenan is stored. Lao Yan's wartime life basically retained its traditional habits in Wutai hometown and Taiyuan, such as dressing, mostly Zhongshan cloth clothes in the four seasons, cold in winter, wearing silk cotton pants, wearing a gray military uniform, and if you go out, you wear a dark yellow cloak. According to Elder Li, Yan Xishan did not wear knitted socks in his lifetime, and he wore five sets of native cloth socks in winter and summer, and did not wear leather shoes unless he participated in major celebrations.

As the commander of the Second Theater, Yan Xishan's work was also very busy, usually deciding on the next day's activities the night before, including meeting times and other matters. Every morning at 5 o'clock, Lao Yan got up on time, and from 5:30 to 6 o'clock, the attendant secretary confessed the letter (Yan instructed the secretary to send only five or six letters a day to read), and the rest of the sub-letter departments, committees, departments, and bureaus handled it. Elder Li said that at 6:30 a.m., Yan Xishan was examined by the attendant doctor, reported the results, and put forward points of attention. According to the conditions at that time, I estimated that it was to take the pulse, measure blood pressure and so on.

After breakfast, Lao Yan went to the Oven Terrace Square to attend the pilgrimage meeting. At 8 o'clock, we will start meeting guests or summoning senior cadres to discuss work. At 12:00, lunch, eat fruit and drink ginseng soup after meals. Old Yan had the habit of taking a nap, and was awakened by the chief attendant at 14:30, and Guo Xingfu, director of the editorial department of the "Jinzhong Daily", first reported important news at home and abroad, and then got up to meet guests or work, or summoned military, political, and economic inspectors to do everything. At 18:00 dinner, sometimes on a whim after the meal, he will meet with the attendant secretary and adjutant Lala. From 20:00 to 21:00, listen to the reports of the chief attendant, the inspector and the director of the communication department, and decide to stop the next day. At 22:00, Lao Yan's upper eyelids and lower eyelids fought directly, and Shangkang went to bed.
