Most of the time, when people encounter difficulties and think that their subjective initiative is not enough to solve them, they often have a high probability of fatalistic feelings.
In ancient times, people's wealth, longevity, and fame in their lives were all limited by established encounters, and people could only obey the arrangements of heaven in order to accumulate blessings and eliminate disasters.
For example, Confucius made a similar lament after he traveled around the world to promote his doctrine of benevolence.
Whether you try hard or not can't change some of the inevitable definite numbers in the underworld, so what is the point of effort?
Is it a negative thought, the meaning of life has not yet been lying flat, then lie flat!
So in the end, can people's subjective initiative or subjective behavior change their destiny?
Perhaps the Ming Dynasty Yuan Huang's "Four Precepts of The Fan" can help dispel some of the doubts.

The Four Precepts of the Noble Ones is a book of virtuousness and self-cultivation and world-building, which is a fusion of Zen and science.
It is divided into four parts: the study of destiny, the method of reform, the method of accumulation of goodness, and the effect of humility.
Yuan Huang used his life's personal feelings to confirm the idea that "fate is made by me, and happiness is sought by oneself".
What exactly did Yuan Huang do to enable him to write the Four Precepts of Fan, and we will talk about his story.
When he was young, Yuan Huang's father died early, and his mother ordered him to study medicine.
This can save people and have a skill.
Later, he met an old man at Ciyun Temple, who called himself Mr. Kong.
This Mr. Kong was proficient in predicting the future of the imperial pole, saying that he had the life of an official and should go to school.
Mr. Kong also told Yuan That he should take the first few places in a certain year, be a twin in a certain year, be a Gongsheng in a certain year, be elected as a county magistrate in a certain year after the tribute, and should be returned to the township after three and a half years in office, and die at home at the age of fifty-three when he was ugly on August 14.
He also made predictions about when he would be able to take the meritorious name, how many places he would be able to take, when he would become an official, when he would live to the end, whether he would have children, and so on.
At first, Yuan Huang certainly did not believe it, but coincidentally, in the following twenty years, Yuan Huang's life really proceeded according to the pattern calculated by this old gentleman, and even the first few places in each examination were very accurately fulfilled, which made him firmly believe in fatalism, believing that "honor and disgrace are life and death, there is a definite number", that is, this fatalism makes him have no ambition.
Because he could not fight against the fixed number of fate without effort, he simply sat in meditation all day and did nothing.
Until he once went to Qixia Mountain to meet the Zen master of Yungu, the two of them "sat in the same room" and did not close their eyes and did not start their hearts for three days and three nights.
Zen Master Yungu was very surprised, so he asked, "You sit quietly for three days, but you don't have the slightest thought of entanglement, what is the reason for this?" ”
Yuan Huang replied, "The honor and disgrace of my life, life and death, and my triumph and frustration have all been calculated. Even if there is another idea, it will not help. ”
Zen Master Yungu smiled, "I thought you were a hero Haojie, but it turns out that you are just a mortal!" ”
Yuan Huang asked why?
Zen Master Yungu said, "But every mortal naturally has a definite number, because mortals do not seek change." But the most good and the most evil, no definite number can bind him. Your life in the past twenty years has been calculated by Mr. Kong, without the slightest change, is it not a mortal with such a fixed number? ”
Yuan Huang suddenly woke up, so he asked how to change this fixed number.
Zen Master Yungu said, "A person's fate is actually decided by ourselves, and blessings are also sought by ourselves." There are many explanations in the Buddhist scriptures for good causes and good results, and how can buddhas and bodhisattvas deceive people without slurring? ”
Yuan Huang understood the principle of "fate is made by me, and happiness is asked for by myself" and knows how to change fate.
He felt that morality and benevolence could be pursued by himself, and that merit and wealth could be obtained by himself, that he should give play to man's subjective initiative and believe that man's destiny was in his own hands, rather than obeying the orders of heaven and obeying the orders of others.
Since then, Yuan Huang changed his name "Xuehai" to "Fan".
Yuan Yifan's belief in life has undergone a fundamental change, from believing in fatalism to believing in the concept of life that fate is created by me and that one wishes to seek oneself.
Subsequently, Yuan Yifan began to actively change his ways and accumulate good karma.
One year he made a wish to do three thousand good deeds to change his life, and the following year the Ministry of Rites examined the examination.
Mr. Kong should have won the third place in the previous budget, but this time he actually won the first place, and the effect of the prediction began to appear inaccurate.
Yuan Yifan, who had never had children, continued to initiate a wish to ask for a son, perhaps willing to do three thousand good deeds, and Xin Weinian gave birth to a son, Apocalypse.
Therefore, Yuan Yifan again issued a wish for zhongjinshi and promised 10,000 good deeds.
In the year of Chengshu, he fulfilled his wish again, won the jinshi, and was awarded the title of governor of Baoli County.
The life originally calculated by Mr. Kong was completely changed after trying to do good deeds and change his life, and even his life expectancy was extended to the age of seventy-four.
When changing his own destiny, Yuan Yifan believes that he must have three hearts: shame, fear, and courage.
Shame and fear can make you realize your mistakes and have enough motivation to correct them.
Courage means that although many people know the truth, but get by, or seriously delay, and do not really implement, and courage is the key to changing and changing lives, only after knowing the truth can courageous hard work really get benefits.
Yuan Yifan believes that reform should be fundamentally changed from reason and from the heart, and changing things often treats the symptoms rather than the root cause.
There are also methods for accumulating goodness, and goodness is also divided into ten categories:
First, be kind to others.
Second, love and respect.
Third, the beauty of adulthood.
Fourth, persuade others to be kind.
Fifth, saving people is in danger.
Sixth, build a great profit.
Seventh, give up wealth for blessings.
Eighth, uphold the Dharma.
Ninth, respect the division commander.
Tenth, cherish the life of the material.
Of course, the most important thing is what kind of mentality to change the fate, so Mr. Fan quoted the words in the "I Ching" and "Shang Shu" to explain.
In the I Ching, it is said that the law of heaven is to lose and be full and gain modest; the law of the earth is to change the full and flow to the humble; the ghosts and gods are to damage the full and the blessings are humble; and the human psychology is to dislike pride and like modesty.
In the Book of Shang, it is said that profit and fullness will attract losses, and modesty will gain gains, that is, full of losses and humble benefits.
Mr. Yuan Yifan's life from believing in life to changing his life can really give people a lot of inspiration.
In the face of the enormous pressure of survival in modern society, how should we follow our own path of life?
Is it really the best way to "lie flat"?
Life is just a process of waiting for death, how do we spend every day, is it really only the meaning of life to wait quietly for death every day?
Even the struggle to resist is the most terrible, and mourning is greater than heart death.
Bad fate is an excuse often said by every loser, and it is also a common reason for the weak.
In fact, everyone is self-inflicted, and what you do yourself will have what kind of feelings.
Do your own thing, and ask for your own blessings.
As long as you rely on your own efforts to improve yourself, you will become strong.
The "I Ching" says that the only constant is change, life is actually a variable, as long as there is a change, it will not present a fixed number.
Life is actually an uncertainty, so there are so many unknowns and so many possibilities.
"Lying flat" completely loses any possibility, and can also be said to be "the living dead".
Yuan Yifan's personal experience tells us nothing more than a truth: "lying flat" his heart died, and the result was definitely no queen, and he definitely died at the age of fifty-three. His heart came alive and his mind changed, and he had two sons and a seventy-four-year-old lifespan.
