The Surging News reporter learned from Comrade Xu Wenhui's relatives and friends and the Eighth Route Army Research Association that Xu Wenhui, the daughter of General Xu Haidong and president of the Beijing Founding Fathers Cultural Promotion Association, died of illness at the Beijing Naval General Hospital on the afternoon of September 28 at the age of 81.

According to public information, Xu Wenhui was born in Yan'an in May 1939 and was admitted to the Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1958. In 1960, he transferred to the Shanghai Second Military Medical University to study, joined the Communist Party of China the following year, and was assigned to the General Hospital of the Beijing Military Region after graduating as a "three good cadets" in 1965, and has been engaged in medical work.

After his retirement, Xu Wenhui enthusiastically participated in the dissemination and promotion of red culture and revolutionary traditions. Before his death, Xu Wenhui was the chairman of the Founding Fathers Descendants Choir, the president of the Beijing Founding Fathers Cultural Promotion Association, and was named one of China's Top Ten Red Tourism Figures in 2008.
