The farewell ceremony of the body of Aunt Xu Wenhui, daughter of founding general Xu Haidong, was held on the morning of October 4, 2020 at the Babaoshan Funeral Home in Beijing.
Xu Wenhui was born in May 1939 in Yan'an. In 1958, he was admitted to the Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 1960, he transferred to the Shanghai Second Military Medical University and joined the Communist Party of China the following year. After graduating as a "three-good cadet" in 1965, he was assigned to the General Hospital of the Beijing Military Region and has been engaged in medical work ever since. On September 28, 2020, he died of illness at the Beijing Naval General Hospital at the age of 81. Before his death, he served as the chairman of the Choir of the Descendants of the Founding Fathers and the president of the Beijing Founding Fathers Cultural Promotion Association.
