On the shore of Dong'an Lake, the divine bird spreads its wings. Standing on a high place and looking at the top of the main stadium of Chengdu Dong'an Lake Sports Park, the "Sun God Bird" is about to take off. On July 5, photographer Canaan pressed the shutter to record the new form under the light and shadow of the city's "eastward" landmark.

In Chengdu, Canaan is a well-known photographer for many people. In 2017, he released a photo that swept across the internet. A long map stitched together from 32 photographs shows Daxuetang, Siguniang Mountain, Gongga Mountain and 94 other high-altitude peaks at the end of the city.
At that time, people were more amazed by the novelty of seeing snow-capped mountains and the magnificence of the scenery in the big cities. Looking at it again today, the urban pattern in the photo is even more emotional: the lush Longquan Mountain in the near distance, the Hengduan Mountain Range in the distance stands majestically, and between the two columns of mountains near and far, Chengdu, which has been established for a thousand years, grows on the vast plain, and the basic geographical pattern of "two mountains and one plain" is clear at a glance.
Coincidentally, on April 25, 2017, a month before the release of the long screen map of the whole network, the "eastward march" was officially proposed at the 13th party congress in Chengdu.
From "two mountains and one city" to "one mountain with two wings". When the Chengdu screen under the lens brushed, it was the opportunity for the urban pattern to break through.

Reading the city: looking east, a city's consideration
At about 5 p.m. on July 8, Flight CA4196, which took off from Beijing Capital Airport, landed at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport steadily. Xiao Qin, who was traveling from Beijing to Chengdu on a business trip, followed the signs and walked out of the terminal building and took rail transit line 18 into the main city.
On June 27, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport was officially put into operation, and on the same day, Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 was put into operation. After 15 months of rapid transformation, on June 30, the Chengluojian Expressway Project (fourth ring road to fifth ring road section) was opened to traffic. The Chengluojian Expressway Project undertakes the regional transportation function of Chengdu's "eastward march" and is an important channel for strengthening the economic and industrial links between the main urban area of Chengdu and Luodai Ancient Town, Jianzhou New Town and Huaizhou New Town.
