The village has 16 resident groups, 822 households, 3,080 people, a land area of 7,090 mu, the leading industries are apples, wheat, corn, grapes, and the per capita income in 2020 is about 21,000 yuan.
The entire village living environment of Pingyuan Village basically maintains the original appearance of history, with two horizontal main roadways and three longitudinal roadways, which have been expanded in the north of the village after the reform and opening up, and the layout is basically neat.
In 2017, after being identified as a beautiful rural demonstration village by the Yuncheng City Government, it was transformed, demolishing 132 illegal buildings, renovating 48 dilapidated walls and houses, excavating 2200 meters of sewers, hardening 2600 meters of roadways, of which 2100 meters of asphalt pavement, 279 rural toilets were renovated, 25 coal to electricity users, 100% of tap water households, and 2100 meters of reinforced flood canals in the north of the village. The whole village is brightened, greened and renovated, and 26 solar lights are installed.
In 2013, after Xue Xuan's family temple and cemetery were identified as national cultural relics protection units, in 2017 all cultural relics were comprehensively repaired, a Xue Xuan honest government cultural education base was built, 9 households were relocated in the center of the village, a 1260-square-meter memorial hall was built, and a 10-acre Juxiu Integrity Square was built in the east of the village using the original pond and the former site of the chicken factory, and various fitness equipment were installed, and the square was also repaired and transformed, and a reception room and public toilets of the village committee were built. In 2018, 40 acres of land were acquired on both sides of the Wenqing Ancestral Tomb Shinto, and more than 4,000 pines and cypresses were newly planted. Along the main roadway wall and gate tower a total of more than 40 households, all using antique buildings for transformation, the current main roadway newly planted flowers and trees with 6,000 square meters, the village large and small lanes placed 70 mobile garbage cans, regular special car transportation, centralized treatment. In 2020, it was rated as a beautiful village and an advanced collective village in the county.
For hundreds of years, under the influence of Xue Xuan's educational thought, Pingyuan Village has attached great importance to the construction and development of cultural and educational undertakings. According to historical records, there were 4 jinshi in the Ming Dynasty, and as many as 16 were official recipients. In the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 20 people who entered the country with filial piety and righteousness. During the Republic of China, there were many scholars engaged in education, and the 15th complete primary school was established at the beginning of the liberation, named Zhenhedong. In 1958, there was a health school, and in 1962, there was an agricultural middle school. Pingyuan Village has moved the school building three times, invested 700,000 yuan in 2004 to build a teaching building, the teaching results are among the best in the county, after the reform and opening up, the village has more than 200 people admitted to the university.
Pingyuan Village successive teams attach great importance to the cultivation and construction of civilized village style, and have long put forward the slogan of "the village is prosperous and I am prosperous, and the village is in decline and I am ashamed", and Pingyuan Village has continuously improved the village rules and regulations according to the development of different periods, advocated civilization and frugality, reduced complicated procedures, and set up a red and white council, which can save more than 200,000 yuan for villagers every year.
Using wall poems, the quality education of villagers is imperceptibly carried out, and a civilized village style is gradually formed. Created in the 1960s, the wall poem has a small blackboard at each doorstep and has been passed down over the years. The cultural people in the village will compile smooth poems on policy publicity, central tasks, agricultural knowledge, moral construction, legal popularization education, etc., and replace them regularly to educate the villagers. Over the years, Pingyuan Village has always insisted on using the form of holding lectures, radio literary and artistic performances, etc., to educate the vast number of villagers on the rule of law, especially in the fight against organized crime and evil, comprehensive anti-drug has played a greater role, in 2016, the city's law popularization education personnel visited the plain, gave the village law popularization education a high evaluation, and awarded the honor of advanced units.
In 2015, more than 300 Xue cultural researchers from all over the country were invited to host the cultural exchange activity conference of "inheriting virtue and filial piety and promoting truthfulness, benevolence and beauty" sponsored by the township government, and after the completion of the Xue Xuan Integrity Memorial Hall in 2020, the party members and cadres, students and villagers of the county organs were organized to visit many times to receive integrity culture education, create Xue Xuan's celebrity brand effect, inherit family rules, and purify the village style.

In terms of industrial adjustment, in 2019, under the leadership of Xue Fengshi, the party branch committee of Pingyuan Village, the introduction of excellent varieties of sapphire grapes from Shandong, the establishment of Xue Xuan Fruit Industry Professional Cooperative, took the lead in building a 60 acres of facility grape greenhouses, good growth, 2021 is expected to earn up to more than 2 million yuan, next year plans to promote planting in the whole village, to achieve the prosperity of the whole people.
Strengthening the building of grass-roots organizations is the key to implementing rural revitalization. There are 103 party members in Pingyuan Village, more than half of whom are young party members who have developed year by year after the reform and opening up. We should inject new impetus into the building of grass-roots party organizations, regularly carry out activities to study and educate party spirit and party history, pay attention to giving play to the vanguard and exemplary leading role of communist party members, and establish a system of party members to provide joint assistance and support so that the poor households and the five guaranteed households in the whole village can have food, clothing, shelter, and transportation.
