Yusuf Khass Hajib, full name Yusuf Has Hajib, hajph Barasaguni. He was a famous Uyghur poet during the Qarakhanid Dynasty (roughly in the Song Dynasty of the Central Plains Dynasty). Born in the city of Balasagun, a prominent family near present-day Tokmok in Kyrgyzstan, he later moved to Kashgar, in present-day Kashgar.
At a young age, he received a good education and became a knowledgeable scholar. His writings are fresh, vivid and vivid in language, and their contents involve major social issues such as politics, economy, military, and law, and they not only occupy an important position in the literary history of the Turkic-speaking peoples, but also are important historical materials for the study of the Qarakhanid dynasty.

Life
Yüsup Xas Hajip (Yusuf Khass Hajib) was a prominent Uyghur poet of the Qaraxanilar Sulalisi, Karakhanid Empire, whose real name was Aji Yusufu and pen name balasaguni.
Born into a prominent family in Balasagun (Brana, southeast of present-day Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan), he came to the dynastic capital of Kashgar (present-day Kashgar, Xinjiang) to study at the Royal Islamic Academy (Xanliq Mediris) and later became a well-known poet, scholar and thinker.
The Qarakhanid dynasty centered on Kashgar, in Musa. The era of Musa Arslanxan laid the foundations for economic and cultural prosperity. In the middle of the 11th century, the religious wars gradually subsided, and Kashgar, the capital of the Eastern Qarakhanid Dynasty, showed a thriving scene, attracting a large number of literati and scholars from the western dynasty and all over Central Asia to kashgar or study or write books and lectures to gain merit, thus greatly promoting the development of Kashgar's cultural undertakings. This period not only produced a large number of highly accomplished literati and scholars, but also made Kashgar the most influential cultural center in Central Asia. Yusufu Hashajiv is one of the most iconic figures who became famous in Kashgar.
At a young age, he received a good education and became a knowledgeable scholar. From 1069 to 1070, he completed the famous long poem "Qutadghu Bilik" (Qutad?u Bilig), dedicated to Bughraxan Hesen Bin Sulayman, and was given the title of "Hath Hajiv" (reliable courtier) at the age of about 60.
Yusufu Hashajiv also wrote two books, the Encyclopedia and the Policy Book, completed in 1082 and 1091. He died in Kashgar near the end of the 11th century at the age of 70. On the south side of Tiyu Road in Kashgar City, there is the mausoleum of the great Uyghur poet Yusufu Hashajifu.
