Zhou Chen, also known as Shunqing, was a native of Wu, Jiangsu (present-day Suzhou, Jiangsu), who died in Jiaqingzhong and lived for more than 80 years. The landscape figures chase after the Song people, especially the divine essence of Li Tang, who is a master of courtyard body painting, and is considered to be comparable to Dai Jin in terms of achievements, and his characters are ancient and strange, dense and scattered, and have their own polar attitudes. Tang Yin and Qiu Ying of the Wumen four families all came from his disciples.

This original painting depicted a total of twenty-four displaced refugees, and this kind of painting depicting people living at the lowest level of society was extremely rare in ancient times. The author describes truthfully, without any embellishment, and has a deep sympathy for the characters in the pen.

This picture was originally an album, which was divided into two and framed into hand scrolls. The first half is in the Honolulu School of Art in the United States; the second half is in the Cleveland Museum of Art, which depicts the twelve people in the picture.
