This is a story about a local writers' association president's election that took place in a humble year.

In 1988, two candidates, one was a local and respected old chairman, and the other was an outsider, but a fearsome literary newcomer. The old chairman not only has deep revolutionary qualifications and great influence in his works, but also single-handedly supported and promoted many young writers, and these young people now have the right to vote in this election. The results of the election are not difficult to imagine: the old chairman is expected to be re-elected smoothly, and the new one retreats to the second vice chairman and will be replaced by the future succession. The truth was a joke with the old chairman who was bound to win before the election, and the young people he had cultivated in those years were all on the verge of turning against each other. On the one hand, their defection is naturally a secret collusion between up and down; in addition, there is a reason that is not easy to say but objectively exists, that is, if the old writer is elected, the new sharp naturally occupies a vice chairman's seat, so that the young people will have one less vice chairman's seat; and if the new sharp is elected, the vice chairman will naturally have one more vacancy, and they will have more opportunities. But there are exceptions, and one of the several young people who have the right to vote refuses to defect when the youth are secretly colluding, and has been strangers ever since.

This maverick young man more than thirty years ago was Han Shishan, the author of this "Flower Note", and the old chairman who lost the election was Xi Rong, one of the authors of the famous "Biography of the Heroes of Lü Liang" and one of the five elders of Shanxi's literary circle. As for the young people who had defected, included many famous writers who were now famous. Many years later, Zhang Shishan, one of the parties involved, wrote in his book "Crossing - Thirty Years of Walking in the Literary World": "When anyone recounts history, he may have such a common disease, that is, to make an explanation that is beneficial to himself." Han Shishan is probably not an exception. But facts are facts after all. In fact, Han Shishan did not turn his back on Xi Rong. At that particular time, Han Shishan was indeed very lonely. This should be his pride. At least at this point, the proud Zhang Shishan was willing to pay tribute to him by taking off his hat. ”

Spending so much ink to tell an old thing, I just want to tell the reader that this campaign that is so thrilling and even affects Han Shishan's life, in the 400-page autobiographical novel "Flower Notes", there are only less than 4 pages of space, but he still expressed this matter through literature after all, and what he expressed with these 4 pages is indeed his thoughts about this campaign life, until he completed the writing of the novels "Border General" and "Flower Notes" in recent years, borrowing "Flower Notes" to borrow "Flower Notes" The protagonist Fang Zhongxiu's mouth spat out words that had been held in his heart for more than thirty years: "The First World War wiped out the Qunkou."

I think that Han Shishan's loneliness has another deep meaning: in terms of morality, Han Shishan has surpassed those young people after the end of 1988; but it is difficult to say in terms of literary achievements. The oldest of the young people, Cheng Yi, not only won the award for "Top Ling Xia Seed" in the first National Short Story Award, but later wrote a long historical novel "Silver Valley"; Zheng Yi had "Far Village" and "Old Well", and "Old Well" was also adapted into a movie, directed by Wu Tianming and starring Zhang Yimou, and won the best film at the Second Tokyo International Film Festival; Li Rui was the author of "Thick Soil", "Old Site", "Tree without Wind", and was favored by Ma Yueran, a judge of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Before Mo Yan won the prize, he was considered one of the few Chinese writers who could win the Nobel Prize in Literature; Zhang Shishan and Han Shishan have always been called the two mountains of Shanxi's literary scene, but Zhang Shishan, who won the National Short Story Award twice in his early years, has always overpowered Han Shishan in literary achievements. Although Han Shishan opened four windows and blossomed everywhere, whether it was "The Biography of Xu Zhimo", "Little Don't Read Lu Xun And Don't Read Hu Shi", or "Who Is Red with Whom Anxious", "How Can This Matter Be Spoken to People", etc., although there are points to point, but after all, he has not won any national awards, so for the sake of this decades of anger, he had to break his remarks of "youth endowment, middle-aged governance, and revision of history in his later years", and the old age was endowed, first writing "Border General", and then writing "Flower Notes" to achieve his meaning of "fighting a war to level the masses". In fact, "Flower Notes" is indeed a work that makes Han Shishan "wipe out the masses in the first world war", and its rich connotation, touching emotions, light language, free writing, complete structure, and ingenious conception can be said to be rare in contemporary novels. In the book, Fang Zhongxiu's oil poem also has the second half of the sentence "Pegasus Lingqian To Report Victory", Xi Rong is Han Shishan's benefactor, he once tried to persuade him to enter the Writers Association, and also wrote a preface to his first novel collection, "The Comedy of the Pig", although Han Shishan had a follower of tens of millions of people, but Xi Rong did not see "Flower Notes" after all, Han Shishan once wrote a poem: "Ma Feng Xi Rong is kind, drag me over Lüliang Mountain." The coach Peng Chen was betrayed, and the side reported the ring of Wu Chen. "Flower Notes" finally gave Han Shishan the confidence to "repay the victory before the spirit". If in terms of literary writing, Han Shishan is a personal biography of Qian Zhongshu (I think that "Hua Zhi" is another important Novel of Chinese intellectuals in the creation of modern and contemporary Chinese literature after "Siege of the City", and it is coincidental that the protagonists of both novels are surnamed "Fang"), then Xi Rong is the spiritual teacher of Han Shishan's life, especially after the end of 1988.

In the "Flower Notes", Han Shishan borrowed the mouth of the character and wrote: "The flower notes represent the softest part of the hearts of the ancient literati. Literature is to explore and touch the softest part of the human heart. It should be said that "Flower Notes" did explore and touch the softest part of Han Shishan's heart, at least, the thin 4 pages of paper are proof.
