In the "5.19" murder and cingenation case in Qidong in 2004, the criminal suspect burned the scene with gasoline after committing the crime, and the scene was trampled by the surrounding masses and firefighters, and the investigation of the case was extremely difficult. Gu Ying led the investigators to start from a pair of slippers left at the scene, extracted the biological test materials of the suspect's shedding dander, successfully made a mixed MAP of DNA of more than three people, and finally made the murderer confess through genetic identification. Constantly summarizing and innovating has enabled Gu Ying to always stand at the forefront of the development of criminal investigation reform. He led the exploration of old corpse bone DNA detection and identification and ABO genotyping technology, filling the gap in China.
With her outstanding work performance, Gu Ying has been commended by the Ministry of Public Security and Jiangsu Province more than 30 times, and has been awarded the titles of "National Excellent People's Police" and "Jiangsu Provincial Model Worker". On the afternoon of August 26, 2010, Jiangsu Nantong was filled with thunder and lightning, and heavy rain was torrential.
