Writers with styles have their own bases for life. After a few years, when future generations want to talk about Suzhou, it is impossible to avoid Lu Wenfu; when talking about Lu Wenfu's novels, it is impossible to wander outside Suzhou.

Lu Wenfu's novels have gone global, but he belongs to Lu Wenfu of Suzhou, China.

Looking back at the literary path of Lu Wenfu's life, if you want to divide the stages, readers and friends, Lu's novels start from writing sexual colors, write diets and become famous, and write housing endings. His novels are based on the basic needs of people, weaving stories in a metaphysical range, and set in the water town of Suzhou.

"Deep in the Alley" is about the fate of prostitutes. After the founding of New China, the government banned brothels and liberated prostitutes who were suffering in the old society. The local government departments organized these unfortunate women, treated them, let them learn cultural knowledge, and arranged for them to work in factories. The most humanitarian and private approach to protecting personal privacy is to keep their past occupations secret. Xu Wenxia in "Deep in the Alley" is such a character.

Lu Wenfu pays attention to the fate of characters like Xu Wenxia with humanitarian feelings, placing the characters in the novel in a dilemma, and the story has ups and downs, attracting readers to pay attention to Xu Wenxia's fate. Xu is forced into prostitution in the old society, and Zhu Guoling, who represents the forces of the dark society, still comes to harass her after liberation, and at this time, Zhang Jun, a college student technician in the factory, falls in love with her. Why wouldn't she love a young and cultured young man? But she knew who she was and her past, and she had love that she didn't dare to love, couldn't love. Zhang Jun, who only knows Xu Wenxia's present, does not know her past; readers know that they can't help but worry about their love affair, in case... Is this possible? Can Xu Wenxia Zhang Jun be combined? The new person crashed into Xu Wenxia's heart, the old man- Zhu Guo soul, the devil, is still pestering her, Xu Wenxia, what do you let her do? Lu Wenfu delicately describes the psychology of the characters, sorts out the thousand knots in Xu Wenxia's heart, and lets readers sympathize with the characters in the novel and understand Xu Wenxia's situation. For sincere love, Xu Wenxia confessed her origins, which gave Zhang Jun a problem: the person he loved turned out to be a prostitute in the old society! So, can he continue to love her and marry her? In the face of reality, Zhang Jun tortured himself and forced himself out of the predicament. The plot of the novel, with ups and downs, constantly pushes the characters to the tip of the wave, and then throws the characters down to see how the writer ends. Deep in the alley, in the middle of the night, it was Zhang Jun's knock at the door. The novel leaves a blank space, waiting for the reader to fill it out: after Xu Wenxia and Zhang Jun meet, what will Zhang Jun say? Can they end up in a happy marriage? The novel ends with a knock at the door deep in the alley; at the beginning of the novel, it is a quiet night in Suzhou:

"Suzhou, this ancient city, is now asleep. She lay quietly in the arms of the canal, like a water lotus in the silver riverbed. The less bright street lamp illuminated the poplars in the autumn wind, projecting the shadows of the trees on the gravel road, making the streets also sprinkled with hazy drowsiness. ”

The beginning is a quiet Suzhou night; the end is a Suzhou night with someone knocking on the door in the depths of the alley. This is life.

"Foodie" has won Rudd a huge reputation. This work has just been published, and the "Literature and Art Daily" has taken the lead in recommending it, and it is a commentary written by Wu Taichang. The theme of the novel is eating, what to eat? The question of how to eat. According to Lu Wenfu's own words, he was inspired by Comrade Chen Yun's speech on dressing and eating, and in the form of a novel, he used images to think about the basic needs of the people's livelihood. In the ultra-left era, eating and drinking was criticized as a decadent bourgeois lifestyle, and Chinese cuisine, which enjoyed a good reputation all over the world, Chinese did not dare to talk about it. Ding Datou, a character in "The Foodie", said: "I just want to tell you a strange physiological phenomenon, that there is no difference between the taste of the bourgeoisie and the taste of the proletariat!" The capitalists said that fried shrimp was better than shredded meat with cabbage, and the proletariat nodded after tasting it. After they have money, they also want to eat stir-fried shrimp. "Diet has no class nature, and in contemporary literature, it is Lu Wenfu who first proposed it. Today, there is no need to say such things, and no one talks about eating in this way, but in the 1980s, the publication of "Gourmet" had a liberating meaning. If you look at the novel from the perspective of cooking alone, Lu Wenfu writes very superficially, because he does not write novels from a technical level.

The long novel "Nest of People" can be said to mobilize Lu Wenfu's lifelong experience and exhaust all his artistic techniques, which is a work that he has focused on a lot. I read after reading that in terms of structure, he still uses short pieces to stitch together, not to write in a grand poetic history. Lu's novels, which are won by short stories, and he writes long stories, and can only develop the story according to this jigsaw puzzle structure.

Just like the title of the book, Lu Wenfu in the long works he created under his efforts is to write about people's living conditions and living environment. In the problem of housing people's livelihood, social problems, problems brought about by political movements, human desires, basic needs of people and the contradictions of the living environment, can all be presented in an alley, a yard, a family, and a person. "Wang Yongfu is mistaken, those really big powers in power usually always have such shortcomings, and those who really have no shortcomings always have more wages than the masses, and the houses should be more live than others, and this difference itself will cause resentment, and the general poverty will not tolerate subtle differences. So when those people suffer on stage, the people in the audience are still a little bit schadenfreude: they were too happy before, and they also let them suffer a little. The fact that the characters in the novel express such an opinion on the antagonism between people caused by living conditions is also a note on why the political movement has the active participation of the masses. In this novel, there is one character who is the most plump and successful, and she is Fei Tingmei. Only in suzhou, there will be such an unforgettable artistic image as Fei Tingmei.

Lu Wenfu has written theoretical articles on novel creation, written many prose essays, and I was deeply impressed by "Happy Death". He was wary of early on, tired of celebrities, and in the eyes of onlookers, it was one burlesque drama after another. Lu is benevolent, but he is secular, and he does not have the morale of his old friends Fan Yanqiao and Zhou Shuangjuan in the past. His simplicity is detached, and he still maintains a civilian spirit in his bones. "Everything is learned, and the cultivation of human feelings is the article" ,—— this is Lu Wenfu.
