On the painting pond there is the title of the Qianlong Emperor: QiuPu True Fragrance. Qian Xuan (c. 1235-1307), zi Shunju, was a native of Wuxing, Zhejiang. Gong poetry, good calligraphy and painting, and Zhao Mengfu is one of the "Eight Juns of Wuxing".
There is an eggplant plant on the slope, the fruit is hanging, and the melon vine is on the side, and there is a cabbage. The objects are geometric, and the pen is meticulous and elegant. On the canvas Gao Shiqi (1645-1703) Kangxi Jidi (1699) inscribed as Qian Xuan's "Three Vegetable Maps", and borrowed poems to express the indifferent heart of thanking him for returning to his hometown. The style of this painting is close to the "Autumn Melon Diagram" selected by the courtyard collection, but the width is flat, and the pen and ink are relatively simple and provincial, which is a famous work for future generations.
There are still many surviving works of Qian Xuan at home and abroad, most of which are flower and bird paintings, such as Eight Flowers Diagram, Flower and Bird Diagram, Peach Branch Squirrel Diagram, Pear Blossom Diagram, Lin Qiu Diagram, etc., in addition to many doubtful works.
The lines of these works are delicate and feminine, the colors are light and elegant, and the images are vivid and vivid. Although it follows the exquisite and workmanlike painting style of the Song Dynasty courtyard painting, the color has changed from rich to light, and the style is fresh and elegant. The layout is wide and stretched, mostly unfolded in the form of long hand flowers without making courtyard paintings, and is not painted on the common group book of the Song Dynasty, but on paper, reflecting the author's superb and skillful skills.
In addition, poems are often inscribed on the works, and the poems and paintings complement each other perfectly, with a strong literary interest, which is a portrayal of the painter's state of mind at that time. Huang Gongwang Zengyun "Knows the poet is aware of his paintings". Although this art form of combining poetry and painting had not yet formed the mainstream at that time, it gradually spread through the influence of Zhao Mengfu and others and developed into a fashion, and later generations of painters competed to emulate it, becoming an important feature of literati painting.
