Chinese Herald News "No Questions Asked: An Exhibition of Paintings exchanged by Chinese and Japanese Artists" kicked off at 2 p.m. on September 13, 2021 at the Chinese Cultural Center in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Wu Lequn, Vice President and Secretary General of the Japan Chinese Artists Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Luo Yuquan, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center, Mr. Zhuo Min, President of the Japanese Chinese Artists Association and Lecturer of Tokyo University of the Arts, Ms. Zou Liping, Director of the Japan Chinese Artists Association and Representative of the Lihua Cultural and Creative Society, Mr. Tetsuji Nagata, Executive Director of the Japan-China Friendship Association, Ms. Riksako Kushimoto, Director of the Japan Association for Cultural Exchanges, and Professor Fanlu Akagi of Yokohama National University, President of the Reiwa China-Japan Cultural and Art Exchange Association, delivered speeches. Professor Toshiei Nishida of Musashino University of Fine Arts, Director of the Japan Academy of Fine Arts and Member of the Academy of Fine Arts, and Mr. Ojie, President of the All Japan Ink Art Association, delivered speeches on behalf of the artists from China and Japan.
In her speech, Zou Liping, who was the project of the exhibition, thanked Professor Akagi Fanlu of Yokohama National University, Chairman of the Reiwa China-Japan Culture and Art Exchange Association, Ms. Zhang Yuanyuan, Lecturer of Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School and Director of the Reiwa China-Japan Cultural and Art Exchange Association, Luo Yuquan, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center, Mr. Hu Xiaoxun, Ms. He Xin, participating artists, as well as the organizers, co-organizers and supporting units, for their support and cooperation. The "No Questions Asked" exhibition is a reflection and attempt by Chinese and Japanese artists who are active in the front line on the "East-West Problem" in art. Nearly 40 works by 13 painters participated in the exhibition, mainly oil paintings, in addition to Works of Different Styles such as Japanese Painting, Ink Painting, and Pencil Painting. Through the display of these works, the audience will examine the traditional aesthetics of the East and the Western aesthetics accepted by the East since modern times, and rethink the "problems of the East and the West".
At the opening ceremony, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, and President ZhuoMin of the Japan Chinese Artists Association also presented the newly published "No Questions Asked: A Collection of Paintings by Chinese and Japanese Artists" to the guest representatives.

After the opening ceremony, the participating Chinese and Japanese artists conducted on-site art exchanges and discussions, and Mr. Zhuo Min, a lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, served as the host, and each artist gave a lecture in front of his own paintings, which has academic characteristics. Due to the epidemic situation, the opening ceremony and exchange meeting were mainly announced in the form of Tencent and Zoom's live webcast, and were held online and offline at the same time.
According to the curator, since December last year, Zou Liping, the representative of Lihua Cultural and Creative Society, has cooperated with Zhang Yuanyuan, director of the Linghe China-Japan Art and Culture Exchange Association, zhang Yuanyuan is responsible for the contact and invitation with the Japanese side, and Zou Liping coordinates and integrates all aspects, during the period, especially in the epidemic, experienced many difficulties and hardships, the two worked together to overcome various difficulties, and finally ushered in the smooth holding of the exhibition. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was matched by Professor Akagi Fanlu, chairman of the Reiwa-Japan Chinese Art Exchange Association, and Ms. Zhang Yuanyuan, director of the board, and the monthly art and art window of a well-known Japanese art magazine also came to visit, and also carried out a large-scale follow-up report and published the paintings.
