author:China Daily

China Daily, October 25 (Reporter Jiang Dong) On October 24, 2021, the 24th Beijing International Music Festival ushered in the closing concert at poly theater. The famous composer and conductor Tan Dun conducted the China Philharmonic Orchestra, together with Erhu player Lu Yiwen, pipa player Han Yan, and guzheng player Su Chang, performed Stravinsky's works "Fireworks" and "Firebird", as well as Tan Dun's new Erhu Symphony Concerto "Fire Festival" and the Pipa and Guzheng Double Concerto, to carry out a dialogue with Stravinsky in time and space.

Titled "Masters and Remembrance", this year's festival brought a total of 21 sets of 24 wonderful concerts. Among them, three concerts commemorating the master composer in the form of dialogue transcend the boundaries between time and space and Chinese and Western cultures, and further inherit and carry forward the musical works while commemorating the master.
