Wang Silei, born in March 1933, is a native of Changshu, Jiangsu Province. Professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Mathematics of Zhejiang University. He has offered undergraduate courses "Mathematical Analysis", "Complex Variable Functions", "Real Variable Functions", "Ordinary Differential Equations", and graduate courses "Trigonometric Series Theory", "Singular Integrals", "Hardy Space", "Modern Harmonic Analysis" and so on. In 1978, he won the National Science Conference Award, in 1985 he was awarded the honorary title of "Zhejiang Provincial Labor Model", and in 1990, he was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Scientific and Technological Worker of National Colleges and Universities" jointly issued by the State Education Commission and the State Science and Technology Commission.

But until now, he still maintains the habit of going out to academic conferences 2 or 3 times a year.

He recalls his youthful scientific experience, when the material conditions were not as good as they are now, and even the head of the department was crammed into an office with colleagues, which did not improve until the 1990s. In addition to attending classes, Wang Silei devoted himself to scientific research in the small study room of six square meters at home when he did not have a course, until he went to bed very late at night. In the day-to-day scientific research run, brilliant mathematical scientific research results were born in this quiet six-square-meter small study.

Professor Wang Silei was awarded the honorary title of "Zhejiang Provincial Labor Model" in 1985, and he always said "very ashamed" in retrospect. In his opinion, he "just did his duty in an ordinary teaching position."

After arriving in Hangzhou, Cai Tianxin also rode to Wang Silei's house many times as a guest, and every time he and Teacher Tian received him warmly.
