Chinese medicine is one of the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancients in China, which emphasizes the fundamental prevention of diseases through the reconciliation and nourishment of the body. However, because some of its contents do not conform to the research results of modern medicine, many people regard it as pseudoscience. Hua Tuo was a famous doctor in the Three Kingdoms period of China, who used toxic medicinal materials such as mandala and grass wu to make the world's earliest anesthetic "Ma Boiling Powder", and performed surgical operations after anesthetizing patients, known as the originator of surgery.

However, some people believe that the level of research on pathology at that time was low, and there was a lack of sterile environment and antibiotics, so Hua Tuo's so-called surgical operation was not realistic. Even, Hua Tuo was accused of being a charlatan who deserved to be killed by Cao Cao. So, whether the real Hua Tuo in history was a divine doctor or a liar, why did Cao Cao have to kill him?
Hua Tuo and Cao Cao were compatriots, and they were both born in Peiguo County, which is now Bozhou, Anhui. When he was young, Hua Tuo gave up the opportunity to become a career and chose to travel around, accumulating experience in practicing medicine and studying the art of treating diseases and saving people. According to the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, Hua Tuo was proficient in all kinds of prescriptions, and when he treated the disease, he only needed to think about it in his heart, so that he could directly decoct the medicine without weighing it and give it to the patient. After feeding the medicine, Hua Tuo will explain some precautions, often before the residue is poured out, the patient has already recovered.
In addition to the soup medicine taken internally, Hua Tuo is also proficient in acupuncture, whether it is acupuncture or moxibustion, he only needs to exert force in one or two acupuncture points, often one or two stitches, seven or eight wormwood can solve the problem. If the medicine is useless, acupuncture does not work, Hua Tuo will use the skill, that is, to open the operation, according to the history books, hua Tuo surgical procedure is to first give the patient to drink hemp boiling powder, so that it "like drunk and ignorant", and then break the place where the operation is to be performed. After the knife is moved, Hua Tuo will suture the wound, and the patient will be able to heal in about a month.
Judging from these records, Hua Tuo did have his own strength, and his achievements in Traditional Chinese medicine were also very high. Of course, as mentioned above, in that era when the level of all aspects was limited and the understanding of the human body was relatively backward, surgery was really unrealistic. In addition, there are more bizarre records in the history books that Hua Tuo let patients drink vinegar and help them spit out a snake, which also makes people wonder.
With his excellent medical skills, Hua Tuo's reputation reached Cao Cao's ears, who was distressed by headaches, and he hurriedly invited him to help heal his head. Because Cao Cao's head wind was too serious, Hua Tuo said that no matter how he healed, he could only prolong it for a while, and in order to be able to treat it at any time, Cao Cao forcibly left Hua Tuo by his side. Over time, Hua Tuo began to miss home, and he wrote to Cao Cao, saying that there was an accident at home and he needed to go back to handle it. Cao Cao had more respect for Hua Tuo, so he immediately agreed to the request and asked him to go home first.
However, as soon as Hua Tuo arrived home, he said that his wife was seriously ill and repeatedly wrote to ask for more time at home. Once or twice Cao Cao was acceptable, but as his condition worsened, he began to feel impatient and angry. In a fit of rage, Cao Cao ordered that someone be sent to visit him, and if Hua Tuo really did not come because his wife was ill, then reward them with forty small beans, and then for a short period of time, and if he was deceiving people, then arrest and imprison them on the spot.
As a result, Hua Tuo pretended that his wife was ill and exposed, and was arrested and imprisoned, even though Xun Yu persuaded, Cao Cao was still furious because of being deceived, and killed Hua Tuo directly. When Hua Tuo was killed, Cao Cao once confidently said: "Don't worry, when there is no such rat in the world? However, after Hua Tuo's death, there really was no doctor who could alleviate Cao Cao's illness. Later, Cao Cao's favorite little prodigy Cao Chong fell ill and died, and Cao Cao could only regret it: "I repented of killing Hua Tuo, and let this child die forcefully." "
In folklore, Cao Cao killed Hua Tuo because the latter offered to split his head with an axe and remove the bruised blood from it, which was regarded by the suspicious Cao Cao as wanting to murder him. However, according to Cao Cao's own words: "The little man raises my illness and wants to respect himself, but if I do not kill this son, I will not cut off this original ear for me in the end." That is to say, Cao Cao believed that Hua Tuo could have cured his own illness, but only wanted to get better treatment and receive greater attention before deliberately dragging on, so that his own cleverness and use of Cao Cao's behavior was exactly what he hated and hated the most.
According to this statement, the reason why Hua Tuo was treated by Cao Cao was to achieve fame and fortune, glory and wealth. However, we can see that Hua Tuo has treated many ordinary people, and he has traveled around and refused to become an official, and it is clear that he does not have much desire for so-called fame and fortune. Hua Tuo has made a certain contribution to the development of traditional medicine, and the five birds he pioneered has also had a huge impact on medical sports. He practiced medicine to save people, not to make a lot of money and become a big official, so it is obviously inappropriate to say that he is a charlatan. As for Cao Cao's reasons for killing him, perhaps the most important point is that he deceived Cao Cao by pretending that his wife was ill and had a negative attitude towards treating his headwind.
