On October 11, local time, the London police in the United Kingdom announced that they would no longer investigate Prince Andrew's suspected sexual assault case. British media pointed out that although the British royal family and Prince Andrew himself have previously denied the allegations, the royal family has now "hidden" it.

According to CNN reported on October 11, London police said they would not take further action on the sexual assault allegations against Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II. In August, a woman named Virginia Gifour accused Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor in New York.

After reviewing some of the documents, The Metropolitan Police Service decided to drop the investigation. On the 11th, the London police told CNN that they had "reached the conclusion of stopping the investigation." In August, London Police Chief Cressida Dick said the allegations would be investigated for the third time.

Gieffer, 38, was a victim in the sexual assault case of American billionaire Epstein. She said she had been asked by Epstein to have sex with some of his powerful friends, including Prince Andrew, when she was a minor.

In the allegations, she said she had been sexually assaulted by Prince Andrew on three occasions, including at the London residence of Epstein's ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's mansion in Manhattan and his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

For a long time, the British royal family and Prince Andrew denied the allegations. On the 11th, a source said, "The police have conducted three investigations into this allegation, and their decision not to take any more action on this is not surprising to me." Despite constant pressure from the media to look for new evidence, the police have now concluded that the allegations are not enough to allow them to continue their investigation.

The London Police also said they would not take "further steps" in the case of Maxwell allegedly helping Epstein recruit and abuse women in the UK. Still, London police noted that they will continue to be in touch with other law enforcement agencies leading investigations into Epstein's sexual assault case.

After being implicated in Epstein's sexual assault case, Prince Andrew resigned from the royal family in November 2019 with the Queen's approval. The Mirror revealed on October 11 that in January, Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Edward believed he "should not show his face in public again." Currently, the royal family has "snow hidden" him, and he was asked at a recent banquet not to dine with other members of the royal family such as Prince Charles.
