Wen-Youth League Committee of China Mobile Hebei Company

In 2012, Zhang Shanshan, who works at China Mobile's Shijiazhuang branch in Hebei Province, decided to donate bone marrow to save a 12-year-old girl she had never met.

In March of that year, a strange call came from the Red Cross Society in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On the other end of the phone, the staff was cautious - Zhang Shanshan's hematopoietic stem cell low resolution was successfully matched with a 12-year-old leukemia patient, so she was asked if she was willing to donate stem cells.

After only a little thought, Zhang Shanshan said two words softly: "Donate!" ”

She is one of the few volunteers in the country to donate hematopoietic stem cells twice without compensation. That year, this "post-90s" girl was still in her junior year.

Twice donated marrow

On October 17, 2009, by chance, Zhang Shanshan, who had just been a freshman, filled out the "China Bone Marrow Bank Volunteer Registration Form" at school and became a bone marrow donation volunteer - "Although the probability of successful bone marrow matching of strangers is one in a million, there is a glimmer of hope for saving others when she joins." ”

Unexpectedly, because of this time filling out the form, a 12-year-old leukemia patient in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, and Zhang Shanshan actually had an intersection of life.

The answer on the phone was easy, but Zhang Shanshan knew in her heart what it meant.

Her body may bear certain risks, and many friends kindly advise her, but she turns to her friends: "Many leukemia patients can't wait for a successful match until they leave this world, and they are really lucky to meet a successful match." In general, these patients are in urgent need of bone marrow transplants, and for them, time is of the essence. Moreover, this little patient is still so young, her life should have a better future, I don't have time to think about it, all I can do is help her as soon as possible. Rescue is not only a choice, but also a responsibility.

At 8:00 a.m. on May 29, 2012, Zhang Shanshan lay quietly on a hospital bed in the collection room of the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University. With a catheter inserted in her arm, blood slowly flowed out of her left arm, and after the operation of the stem cell separator, the stem cells were slowly gathered, and the rest of the blood was transfused back into the body from the right arm.

Blood from the whole body circulates in vitro again and again until enough stem cells are collected. She was so thin that the surgery, which had taken just three hours, took more than 6 hours. A total of 203 grams of hematopoietic stem cells were collected, and the instrument showed that more than 20,000 milliliters of blood were circulated, equivalent to the blood of five or six adults combined.

Things are unpredictable. In May 2013, Zhang Shanshan again received a call from the Shijiazhuang Red Cross Society, informing her that the leukemia patient she had been rescued had repeated illness and needed to make a second donation to save her life. At this time, although her body has not yet fully recovered, she still agreed to the second donation.

Zhang Shanshan was relatively weak, but an unexpected situation suddenly occurred during the collection process. Her blood pressure was only 65mmHg, and her low blood pressure caused the instrument to report to the police continuously, and the doctor recommended that the collection be terminated immediately out of consideration for her body, but she insisted: "That child is waiting for me, and I can't stop donating." ”

After some twists and turns, the donation was finally completed, and the 155 ml "life-saving bone marrow" once again flew to the side of the small patient on a special plane.

The Road to Philanthropy

At 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2015, the "2014 Charity Night for Good Actors and the 'Spring Rain Action• Holding Hands with Orphaned Girls' Public Welfare Auction" is being held.

The 60 pieces of calligraphy and paintings, antiques, crafts, and wooden furniture to be auctioned were taken into photos and then numbered for the buyer's reference, except for lot 21, there were no photos, but there were 8 words: the scene was revealed, so stay tuned.

"What is this selling?" People were puzzled, and some people began to turn their heads and ears and talk about it.

However, as soon as "Lot 21" appeared, it immediately attracted the attention of hundreds of people in the audience.

It was Zhang Shanshan's 1.5-meter-long hair, which was finally sold for 125,000 yuan. When the lot was sold, Shanshan immediately asked the staff to cut off a long hair, and announced that 125,000 yuan would be donated to the Hebei Provincial Charity Practitioners Public Welfare Association on the spot, specifically for the rescue of orphaned girls.

At that time, Zhang Shanshan, who had "donated marrow twice", was already a public welfare "celebrity".

As she witnessed the tragic lives of many orphaned girls, a question struck her heart more and more intensely: What can I do for them? How? Donate cash, more you can't get it, less and less water, it doesn't help.

At that time, her long hair had been maintained for 9 years, and it was 1.5 meters long when she donated it, which was loved by everyone. Weighing it up again and again, Zhang Shanshan "opened the knife" with her beloved hair.

In addition to the "legend", there are also a variety of "public welfare daily".

Since 2009, he has participated in more than 400 hours of volunteer service and donated about 150,000 yuan in donations and materials;

He has participated in about 200 public welfare charity activities and participated in nearly 100 lectures in provincial and municipal colleges and universities;

He has won the national honorary title 5 times, the provincial honorary title 11 times, and one of the 100 "Most Beautiful Volunteers in The Country" in 2018...

Today, Zhang Shanshan, who works at China Mobile's Shijiazhuang branch in Hebei Province, has led her colleagues to set up a youth volunteer service team and actively participate in volunteer service activities.

They use their rest time to organize regular activities, donate love to children in schools for the blind, send necessities to children in orphanages, organize donations for earthquake-stricken areas, send relief materials to poor areas, and actively participate in environmental protection activities.

She also has many "future plans" - she wants to take more time out of work, lead her colleagues to visit more poor areas, dock more difficult families and students, teach to children in poor mountainous areas, go to orphanages to play with children, go to nursing homes to take care of widows and the elderly...

More and more young mobile people like Zhang Shanshan are actively engaged in social welfare undertakings in their spare time, volunteering to donate blood, participate in environmental protection, care for orphans, and help orphans and the elderly... With the spark of stars, with fists and fists of love.

In the words of Zhang Shanshan: "One person's efforts are too small, but if everyone can contribute a little strength, these forces will be a huge energy when they are gathered." ”
