A few days ago, Mazda released the official picture of the new Mazda BT-50. The car is a mid-cycle facelift of the current generation of the BT-50, mainly for the exterior, interior and equipment adjustments, the powertrain continues to be equipped with the Isuzu 3.0T diesel engine. It is reported that the new BT-50 will be launched in the Australia market in the first quarter of 2025.

Judging from the official pictures, the new BT-50 has been replaced with a double L-shaped headlight cluster similar to the Mazda CX-5, and the front grille and front bumper have been newly designed. The SP model in the official image has a black matrix grille with a distinctive red module accent, and the same design technique appeared on the Mazda 2 model.

The new BT-50 antenna continues to be located in the center of the roof and is available with a black rail-style roof rack. The side profile of the new car has not changed, but it comes with black alloy rims in a new style. The rear of the car is still equipped with longitudinal taillights, and the internal light source adopts a more three-dimensional L-shaped structure.

It should also be noted that the Mazda logos on the front and rear of the new BT-50 are larger than those of the previous model. It is reported that the new car also adds three body colors: Red Earth (red) metallic paint, Geode White (white) pearlescent paint, and Sailing Blue (blue) metallic paint.

Inside, the new BT-50's interior materials and colour scheme have been adjusted, and the gloss black trim around the center console of the old model has been replaced with a matte black finish. The interior of the car has been replaced with a 9-inch center display and a new infotainment system, which supports wireless interconnection between Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phones, and the control area under the center display has been changed to a physical knob and touch buttons.

The new BT-50 instrument cluster has been upgraded from 4.2 inches to 7 inches, and it is also equipped with a USB Type-C charging port. Driver assistance functions have also been upgraded, including adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and rear cross-traffic warning system.
The current generation of Mazda BT-50 and Isuzu D-MAX belong to the same platform model, Mazda BT-50 main power system is a 3.0T diesel engine, the maximum power of 140 kilowatts, the peak torque of 450 Nm· meters. At the same time, the entry version of the Mazda BT-50 is equipped with a 1.9T diesel engine with a maximum power of 110 kW and a peak torque of 350 Nm· meters. The drivetrain mated to both engines is a six-speed automatic transmission. At present, the detailed power information of the mid-cycle facelift model has not been officially announced.

The Mazda BT-50 is a mid-size pickup truck first released by Mazda in 2006 and is mainly sold in Australia, Thailand, South Africa and other markets. The current model on sale is the third-generation BT-50, which is based on the Isuzu D-MAX and has undergone four facelifts and upgrades since its launch in 2020.
