On October 13, the 2025 Science and Technology MBA Open Course and Enrollment Seminar of Southern University of Science and Technology was held in the 114 Lecture Hall (Dacheng Auditorium) of the Business School of Southern University of Science and Technology. Mr. Xu Wenwei, former Director of Huawei, Dean of the Institute for Strategic Studies, and Adjunct Chair Professor of Southern University of Science and Technology, and Chair Professor Jin Li, Vice President of Southern University of Science and Technology, Acting Dean of the School of Business, and Dean of the Southern Institute of Science and Technology Finance, were invited to attend and deliver keynote speeches. Chair Professor Wang Pinghui, Foreign Academician of the Russia Academy of Engineering and Secretary of the Joint Party Committee of the School of Business and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Chair Professor Liu Ke, Foreign Academician of the Australia National Academy of Engineering and Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Wang Yawu, Director of the Scientific Research Department of Southern University of Science and Technology, Geng Jun, Secretary-General of the Alumni Association of Southern University of Science and Technology, Yang Xian Chair Professor of the Business School of Southern University of Science and Technology, and guests and candidates from inside and outside the university attended the event. The event was presided over by Associate Professor Yan Shuo of Southern University of Science and Technology.
First of all, Professor Xu Wenwei gave a keynote speech on "Enterprise Innovation Strategy", revealing to the guests how to maintain innovation vitality in the fierce market competition and lead the sustainable growth of enterprises through innovation strategy with his years of industry experience. He pointed out that enterprises need to have good business quality, innovation ability, market sensitivity and risk awareness in order to succeed in the fierce market competition. He emphasized that people and corporate culture are the most important innovation drivers. Innovation is not only a method, but more importantly a culture and mechanism. At the same time, the innovation of enterprises is strongly related to the different stages of development of enterprises, and the strategic priorities of enterprises and their needs for innovation are different at each stage, and different innovation strategies need to be formulated. Innovation should have a clear purpose, and ensure the correctness of the final innovation results through differentiated processes and methods.
Professor Xu Wenwei said that the purpose of studying for an MBA in science and technology is not only to solve today's problems, but more importantly, to face the future and solve the problems of career development in the next few decades. Vice President Jin Li delivered a keynote speech on "Business School Education Innovation in the Era of Science and Technology Innovation" to the guests, sharing his insights on how business schools can innovate themselves in the era of science and technology innovation and cultivate business leaders. First of all, he said that in the context of the reform of business education, the Business School of SUSTech actively thinks about how to play a role and value in the scientific and technological innovation ecosystem in talent training, and explores in-depth cooperation and docking with enterprises and markets. Subsequently, he introduced in detail the reform ideas of business education of SUSTech in the era of science and technology. He pointed out that in the era of non-linear development of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, SUSTech science and technology talents provide a "two-way revolving door" from enterprises to schools and from schools to enterprises, and build a "tropical rainforest" style of scientific and technological innovation talent development ecology. Finally, he proposed that the Business School of SUSTech aims to build "the most international Chinese science and technology business school" and "the international science and technology business school that understands China best", and actively explores the talent training model of "business +" and "+ business" with the help of the innovation ecological advantages of the Greater Bay Area, and builds a science and technology innovation ecosystem of symbiotic integration of "scientists + entrepreneurs + financiers".
Subsequently, Associate Professor Yan Shuo introduced the MBA (part-time) program of Southern University of Science and Technology to the guests.
