Yin Xuelei was a Chinese teacher at Minhang Middle School, her husband was a doctor at the Shanghai Steam Turbine Factory Hospital, her daughter Ma Yun was in kindergarten, and her parents-in-law had retired from the Steam Turbine Factory. The in-laws' family lives in a two-room household in the workers' new village, and Yin Xuelei's family of three lives in a one-room household of about 9 square meters.
