Publisher Kwalee and developer Digital Mind have announced that the PC version of The Spirit of the Samurai, a Metroidvania-like side-scrolling action game, will launch on December 12 via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The console version of the game will be available at a later date. As part of the Steam Next Fest: October 2024 Edition, the demo version of the game will be available starting October 14th.

All enemies are professionally rendered in high detail using visual effects master Ray · Harryhausen-esque stop-motion animation.

In this battle against the undead army, players will take on the role of three distinct characters: the skilled samurai Takeshi, the brave little elf Wood Spirit, and the warrior cat Zhiji. Each character interacts with the world in a different way, from intense sword battles to platforming and exploration that requires precise control.

Iconic katanas, versatile spears, and powerful bows and arrows take on monster armies with these ancient Japan weapons. On their way to the Demon Fortress, each character will be able to unleash unique and deadly special powerful attacks and combos.
