Criminals obtain photos of leaders of local party and government organs through various channels, fraudulently use the real name of the leader as the WeChat name, and disguise themselves as leaders to take the initiative to contact people in an attempt to commit fraud.
What the criminals did not expect was that their fraudulent text messages were sent to the mobile phone of a police officer with excellent anti-fraud awareness. His name is David Li, and he is a grassroots police officer at the Baiqiao police station.
After receiving the text message, David Li added the so-called "leader" WeChat according to the content of the text message. Sure enough, the "leader" directly began the "first step of fraud", pretended to inquire about his work status, expressed concern and encouragement to him, and then set up a set of agreements with him to meet early tomorrow morning to talk about his heart, promising promotion and other benefits.
Then there is the "second step of fraud", contacting him again before the agreed time, on the pretext of needing money to make a little superior, and needing him to help make bank transfers.
By this point, David Li was already very sure that this "leader" was a big liar. In order to timely remind the people around him that they were not deceived, he continued to negotiate with criminals and published the "deception process" in real time in the local WeChat group for party members and cadres. Sure enough, many people in the group said that they had received similar scam text messages.
In order to expose the criminal facts of the criminals, David Li continued to cooperate with the criminals to start the "third step of fraud", deliberately issuing a false account name to the other party, and the other party actually transferred a sum of money to him, saying that it could be reached within 24 hours, and the insufficient part needed him to pay in advance.
In the "live broadcast group", David Li introduced to the public that there must be a corresponding software for criminals, which can directly imitate the transfer electronic voucher, and the 24-hour transfer can also be withdrawn in real time. If you transfer the money at this step, you are really cheated!
"Live broadcast" to this point, David Li no longer cooperate with the criminals to continue to "perform", directly sent his own police epaulettes to the criminals, and attached a paragraph of warning to the criminals. Sure enough, the criminals never replied to anything again.
It is understood that while David Li and the criminals were circling, the Baiqiao police station quickly made arrangements and issued anti-fraud warnings to individuals in various units under its jurisdiction in a timely manner, promptly curbing the illegal process of criminals. As of press time, no one in Baiqiao Town has been deceived.
Police reminder: If the self-proclaimed "leader" uses WeChat and other chat software to add friends, you can ask the other party some questions in the exchange, such as the person or thing of the unit, and then verify the identity of the other party; if the other party requests to transfer money, be sure to screen and verify through telephone or meeting and other channels; if you are accidentally deceived, be sure to keep the chat, bank transfer and other record information, and call the 110 police in time.
