Wang Shili and his entourage sketched at the mouth of the Yellow River
(Text/Yang Gongbai) In August 2024, "Painting the Yellow River - Painter Wang Shili's Yellow River Basin Sketching Activity" ended. After a period of rest, they continued to visit, pay homage and study along the Yellow River Basin, and successively arrived in Sichuan, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong and other provinces where the Yellow River flows, and conducted research on the representative areas of the Yellow River Basin, such as: the first bay of the Yellow River Jiuqu in the Yellow River in Tangke Town, Ruoergai County, Sichuan, "Bishui Danxia" in Xunhua County, Qinghai, and Gannan Maqu County, which is known as the "first song of the Yellow River". Gansu Baiyin Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark, Jiaxian Xianglu Temple in northern Shaanxi, Yan'an Revolutionary Holy Land, Yanchuan Yellow River Qiankun Bay, Yellow River and Hukou Waterfall, Shanxi Yellow River Mokou Ancient Town, Henan Sanmenxia, Shandong Dongying Yellow River estuary, etc. After this stage of collecting wind in the mother river basin, Wang Shili and his team completed the whole basin and the whole process sketching activity of the Yellow River from the source to the estuary. This is also a rare special life-shedding activity for the whole basin among artists who use the Yellow River as the theme to create themes in today's art world.

After experiencing the tempering and washing of harsh environments such as heavy rain and car trapping, high temperature and scorching heat, hiking and mountaineering, and sudden hail and strong winds, Wang Shili felt that his body and mind had experienced a pure baptism. He said: "Since 2006, when I was hired by Linfen, Shanxi Province as the image ambassador of Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River, although I have also visited different locations of the Yellow River many times to carry out sketching activities, this is the first time to conduct field investigations on the whole basin of the Yellow River, which will definitely have a more positive and far-reaching impact on my future thematic creation of the Yellow River."
