In June 1953, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to strive to build Changchun Automobile Plant in three years, and on July 15 of that year, the first automobile factory held a groundbreaking ceremony. After that, 10,000 builders from Tiannan and Haibei gathered in Changchun, and the workers relied on your drive to catch up with me and not admit defeat, and worked hard for three years, and finally on July 13, 1956, two days before the third anniversary of the establishment of the FAW factory, the first car manufactured by the Chinese themselves, the CA10 Jiefang brand truck, drove off the assembly line with red ribbons. C refers to China and is also the initial letter of Changchun, while A stands for the meaning of first. The whistle of the first "Jiefang" brand car is like a loud horn, inspiring the builders of New China and leading China's automobile industry to continue to rush forward.
"Liberation" reflects the journey of independence and self-reliance to create a brilliant automobile industry
This 68-year-old "classic car" that can still be started is the first mass-produced car in the true sense of New China, and it is the number 000001 Jiefang CA10 truck.
In 1953, the First Automobile Factory broke ground in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Just three years later, on July 13, 1956, the CA10 Jiefang brand car rolled off the production line, and the new Chinese automobile industry started from here.
By today's standards, the truck, which at the time accounted for 80% of the annual production of automobiles, still had many shortcomings. It has a top speed of only 65 km/h, but the fuel consumption is 29 litres per 100 km/h, the cab is not air-conditioned, and the steering wheel is not assisted. The drivers who drove the old liberation back then had to train their tendons and unicorn arms.
In that era of technology blockade and lack of resources, the engineers here have overcome one problem after another with their persistent pursuit of technology, and Jiefang trucks are constantly improving and upgrading. And what does the latest liberation truck look like?
This is the seventh-generation high-end flagship heavy truck of Jiefang, which has just rolled off the assembly line in July 2024. The headache of the old liberation developers a few decades ago is no longer a problem. This latest Jiefang truck has broken through 16 core technologies and achieved energy savings of 14%, which is a proper world-class level.
It is the world's first mass-produced heavy-duty truck equipped with Level 2 intelligent driver assistance. Drivers can achieve single-lane full-speed adaptive cruise with a light grip on the steering wheel, solving the most common long-distance driving fatigue problem in truck use cases.
At the same time, the heavy-duty truck is also equipped with the AEBS active emergency braking system. When the vehicle is likely to collide with an object in front of it and the driver does not react, the AEBS will automatically activate and apply emergency braking to the vehicle.
What has changed is not only the vehicle itself, but also the workshop where the vehicle is produced. Walking into today's Jiefang vehicle intelligent factory, what you see is a highly automated and mechanized production scene. In the spacious and tidy workshop, mechanical arms are working in an orderly manner, logistics robots are quietly busy, and new cars are driving off the production line. There is no roaring noise, no dense workers, and quiet and orderly are the biggest features here.
Since the first generation of vehicles rolled off the assembly line, the national truck has undergone a total of 7 upgrades, and the vehicle power form has also increased from gasoline to fuel, natural gas, new energy and other types. The launch of each generation of liberation vehicles has closely followed the pace of the country's economic and social development, and has also witnessed the changes of the years.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, FAW Jiefang has shown the leading image of China's truck industry. It has achieved leapfrog growth in sales, and its terminal share in the field of medium and heavy trucks has reached the first place in the industry, and it has achieved five consecutive championships in global sales.

"Fuxing" Mercedes-Benz independent innovation to create a national weapon
Independence has created the brilliance of the "Liberation Card", and independent innovation has polished the business card of the "Fuxing". Rejuvenation is the great dream of the Chinese nation, and "Fuxing" is the beautiful business card of China's high-speed railway. Founded in 1954, CRRC Changxin is the cradle of "Fuxing", and over the years, relying on scientific and technological innovation, the "Fuxing" bullet train has been continuously iteratively updated to continuously improve the intelligent level of "Made in China".
In the production workshop of CRRC Changqing, the new "Fuxing" intelligent EMU is being assembled. The new model has been put into operation on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway in June 2024. Compared with the standard "Fuxing", what new experience does the new model bring to passengers?
First of all, its seats have been increased from 18 to 19 rows, and the passenger capacity has been greatly improved. Secondly, a large luggage rack has been added to each carriage, and the space for passengers to store their luggage has also increased accordingly. With the same body length, where does the extra space come from? The electrical cabinet has been slimmed down a lot compared to the past, and some infrastructure has been changed to the undercarriage, so that the use of space in the carriage has been greatly increased.
In fact, the EMUs produced by CRRC Changchun are far more than this type, they are a "big family". From 160 kilometers per hour to 350 kilometers per hour, from 8 to 17 trains, from standard to intelligent, more than 20 models have witnessed the process of China's high-speed rail EMUs from scratch, from catching up to leading.
In the 80s of the last century, CRRC Changchun opened the exploration road of independent research and development of EMUs. In 2007, the first "Harmony" 200 km/h localized EMU rolled off the assembly line. In 2017, China's standard EMU "Fuxing" was put into commercial operation at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, marking that the mainland has become the fastest country in the world for commercial high-speed rail operation.
Since then, China's high-speed rail has entered a new stage of continuous breakthrough and brave climbing. In 2022, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway "Fuxing" intelligent EMU will "shine" in the Beijing Winter Olympics. Many "firsts" that make people proud are inseparable from the day and night work of the R&D and design team.
Today, the rail transit products produced by CRRC Changchun cover EMUs, urban railways, maglev trains and other categories, and the products are exported to more than 20 countries and regions. Now, a group of young people are active in R&D and design.
