Antonio McDyess (born September 7, 1974 in Quitman, MS, Mississippi) is a former American professional basketball player who plays as a power forward/center.
Antonio McDace was selected by the Clippers with the second pick in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft and subsequently traded to the Nuggets, where he played professionally for the Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons and Spurs. McDyth was named to the All-Rookie Team in 1995–96, to the NBA All-Third Team in 1998–99, and to the Sydney Olympic Championship in 2000 for Dream Four. When he first entered the league, McDyth became famous for his strong bouncing ability and was a representative figure in the basket of that era

Antonio McDys was born in a small city in Mississippi called Quitman, which has a population of less than three thousand. As a teenager, McDace was athletically talented, and his favorite NBA player was David Robinson. McDace also saw a rise in stature at the age of 14, and when he entered Quitman High School, varsity coach Sammy Smith immediately recruited him into the squad. In his sophomore season, McDyth was averaging 29 points per game, and in his final two seasons at Quitman High School, McDyce averaged 25.8 points, 14.7 rebounds and 5.3 blocks per game.
During college, McDyce entered the University of Alabama. McDyce was out of the game in preseason, his right cheekbone was broken by a knockout, and he wore a protective gear for the first 18 games of the college season. McDyce averaged 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in his first season, and he was named to the All-American First-Year College Team. Under his leadership, the team achieved a division record of 12 wins and 4 losses and made it all the way to the second round of the NCAA rematch, but unfortunately they eventually lost to the powerful Purdue University.
McDace's performance in his second year of college was even more impressive, and the head coach also tailored a set of tactics and created the conditions for his talent to be released, and he was far ahead of the team in rebounding and scoring
In the 1995 NBA Draft, Antonio McDace was selected by the Clippers with the Second Pick in the first round, and was later traded to the Denver Nuggets along with Randy Woods in exchange for Rodney Rutgers and later Brent Barry.
In the 1995–96 season, McDyce averaged 13.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 30 minutes per game, and made 75 starts in 76 games and 20 double-doubles, ranking 6th per game for rookies and 3rd for rebounds. With outstanding performances, he was selected to the best rookie first team at the end of the season. On March 10, 1996, against the New Jersey Nets, he scored a rookie season-high score of 32 points. In the 1996–97 season, McDace scored 19 "double-doubles," no. 1 on the Nuggets.
On January 10, 1997, in a three-way trade between the Nuggets, Suns and Cavaliers, McDace was sent to the Suns, where the Nuggets received three first-round picks, two second-round picks and a sum of cash.
On October 31, 1997, McDythys played for the Suns for the first time, against the Los Angeles Clippers, where he had 17 points, six rebounds and four blocks. He averaged 17.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in the playoffs
The 1998–99 season was the peak of McDace's career, averaging 21.2 points per game, ranking 9th in the NBA; rebounding 10.7, ranking 7th in the NBA; 2.30 in blocks, 10th in the NBA; 28 "double-doubles", ranking 7th in the NBA, and was named to the NBA's Best Team Third Team.
On January 22, 1999, McDies signed to the Nuggets as a free agent. At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Antonio McDace participated in the gold medal for the "Dream Four Team"
On November 30, 2000, McDace played the most glorious game of his career at home against the Rockets, in which McDace faced Olajuwon, shooting 15-of-28 from the field in 50 minutes, shooting 10-of-12 from the free throw line, and cutting 40 points, 20 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists. Although the Nuggets lost the game 105-109, McDace's game became the best game of his career, with 45 points in a career single game. In the 2000–01 season, McDace was named to that year's All-Star Team, with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
In 2001, McDyce began to suffer a worse knee injury and had to undergo three surgeries, so that the 2002-2003 season was fully reimbursed, and only 52 games appeared in three consecutive seasons, and there was a significant decline in condition after the injury.
On June 26, 2002, McDace and the draft picks for Frank Williams plus a 2003 second-round pick and the Knicks traded for the draft picks of Marcus Camby, Mark Jackson and the draft picks Nene Hilario.
On January 5, 2004, McDace was selected by the Knicks for the suns' Steven Marbury, Anfinny Hardaway and Serary Tabaschi.
He signed with the Pistons on July 16, 2004 as a free agent. In his second season after the Pistons' championship, McDies came to Motor City as the team's sixth man. In the 2004–05 season, McDace played for the Pistons, following them to the Finals, the only Finals experience of his career. He averaged 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in seven games in the Finals.
In the summer of 2009, Antonio McDyce signed a three-year, $18.97 million contract with the Spurs, becoming an important substitute for Duncan
On December 20, 2011, Antonio McDys officially retired. Antonio McDyce entered the NBA league in 1995 as a top performer, playing in the league for 15 seasons and contributing 12,227 points, 7,638 rebounds and 1,102 blocks in his career.
