Chen Xuan, a descendant of the Chen family, introduced that the Chen family lineage in Lijiang originated in Phoenix Mountain, Ji'an, Jiangxi, as early as the first year of Qianlong, after the Chen ancestral hall was built, the ancestors of the Chen family recited poems and books in the ancestral hall, and had the sincerity and respect and gratitude to the sage Confucius. Today, the Chen family is becoming more and more prosperous, and its descendants are widely distributed in Lijiang Town, Maoshi Town, Zhashi Town, Changning City, Guiyang County and other places in Hengnan County, and future generations have produced talents.
In front of the statue of Confucius in the ancestral hall of the Chen family, the teacher led the descendants of the Chen family to bow and salute, and recited the Analects on the spot, expressing their remembrance and reverence for the sage Confucius, feeling the long-standing Confucian culture, and paying tribute to the teachers who have worked the education front.
Chen Xuan said that respecting teachers and valuing education is a fine tradition in the mainland, and Confucius is the most holy teacher and the master of all ages. This time, the inauguration ceremony of the Confucius statue was held at the Chen Ancestral Hall, with the purpose of further promoting traditional Chinese culture and stimulating the determination and fighting spirit of the descendants of the Chen family to respect teachers and teach hard. Subsequently, the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall will also set up an education foundation to fund students in difficulty in the family, and reward outstanding students with excellent character and learning, so as to carry forward the fine tradition of learning and loving learning.
