Centennial plan, education-oriented. Teachers are at the heart of education. Teachers are the foundation of education and the source of education. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made many important speeches and instructions on the construction of teachers. On September 9 last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in a letter to the representatives of outstanding teachers across the country that the majority of teachers across the country should take educators as examples, vigorously promote the spirit of educators, and make a profound interpretation of the spirit of educators from six dimensions: ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, educational wisdom, ploughing attitude, benevolent heart, and the pursuit of Taoism. On the eve of this year's Teacher's Day, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Opinions on Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Strengthening the Construction of High-quality Professional Teachers in the New Era".
For a long time, the school has thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education and a series of important speeches and important instructions on the construction of the teacher team, focusing on the implementation of the fundamental task of cultivating morality, keeping in mind the original intention of "improving ancient medicines, refining new drugs, and caring for the nation" and the mission of "cultivating elites in the pharmaceutical industry, developing inclusive medicines, and contributing to a happy life", adhering to the "four aspects" of scientific and technological innovation. The school adheres to the guidance of the spirit of educators, vigorously promotes the trend of respecting teachers and valuing education, and runs the construction of teachers' ideological and political and teacher ethics throughout the whole process of teacher development. Highlight thought leadership. Organize teachers to deeply study and comprehend the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important speeches, important replies and instructions, build an online and offline teacher ethics education system, and carry out centralized teacher ethics learning and education in full coverage. For specific groups such as young and middle-aged teachers, new teachers, and teachers who have returned from studying abroad, we will customize diversified training courses led by school leaders, and run the connotation and practical requirements of the educator spirit through the whole process of teacher education and teaching and talent development, so as to become the conscious pursuit of the majority of teachers in thought and action, and strive to cultivate a great gentleman who is the unity of "economic teacher" and "human teacher". Improve the mechanism and system. As an important reference for the annual work evaluation of the unit, the results of the teacher's moral assessment are linked to the teacher's personal annual appraisal performance, and the whole-process and normalized teacher's moral cultivation and assessment and evaluation system is further improved. Strengthen exemplary education. Carefully organize a series of activities to "carry forward and practice the spirit of educators", and continue to carry out the selection and commendation activities of outstanding teachers and advanced models of teams. In 2014 and 2019, Professor You Qidong was awarded the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" Famous Teacher and National Model Teacher. In the 2024 National Education System Advanced Collective and Advanced Individual Selection, Professor Li Ping was awarded the National Outstanding Teacher. In terms of team building, in 2021 and 2023, the pharmacognosy teacher team led by Professor Li Ping and the Chinese medicine and natural medicinal chemistry teacher team led by Professor Kong Lingyi were selected as the second and third batches of "Huang Danian-style Teacher Teams in National Universities" respectively. In the past 10 years, 2 teachers have won the title of Famous Teachers in Jiangsu Province, 21 teachers have won the "Guobang Excellence Award for Teaching Grant", and 8 teachers (teams) have won the "Haosen" Excellent Graduate Tutors (Team). These outstanding teacher groups and individuals, with their noble character, profound knowledge and selfless dedication, interpret the profound connotation of the spirit of educators, interpret the teacher demeanor of the "four haves" good teachers, and interpret the lofty realm of "learning from high schools as teachers and being a model".
Adhere to the strategy of strengthening the school with talents and build a high-quality talent team. In recent years, the school has implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education, science and technology, and talents, thoroughly implemented the strategy of strengthening the school with talents in the new era, deepened the reform of education and teaching, continued to improve the introduction and education mechanism, strengthened the construction of the teaching team, and achieved remarkable results. At present, among the 1,154 full-time teachers in the university, 25.1% are teachers with senior professional titles, and 82.7% have doctoral degrees. Since the establishment of special channels such as "Teaching Distinguished Professors" in 2017, the school has successively promoted 5 teachers who have been working in the front line of teaching for a long time to be promoted to senior professional titles. Focusing on the implementation of the fundamental task of cultivating morality, we will educate and guide all teachers to use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to cast their souls and educate people, and improve the "big ideological and political" education pattern of full coordination, full penetration, and all-round immersion. Improve the quality of ideological and political teachers. Vigorously strengthen the construction of Marxist schools, ideological and political courses, and ideological and political teachers, and timely and organically integrate the latest theoretical achievements of Marxism in China and the era into the teaching of ideological and political courses. Intensify the cultivation of ideological and political teachers, implement the classification and evaluation of ideological and political teachers, and promote the implementation of the "three singles" policy of separate plans, separate standards, and separate evaluations for professional title evaluation. Integrity and innovation have created a demonstration gold course, and the introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era has been taught with high quality, and it has won the special prize of the National University Ideological and Political Teaching Exhibition for two consecutive years. Innovate the path of ideological and political construction of the curriculum. Establish a curriculum ideological and political teaching research center to coordinate and promote the ideological and political construction of undergraduate education, graduate education, and continuing education courses. Deeply sort out the teaching content of professional courses, combine the characteristics, thinking methods and values of different courses, and build a scientific and reasonable course ideological and political teaching system. Four sessions of the Ideological and Political Teaching Competition have been held consecutively, and a number of ideological and political demonstration courses have been formed. It has been selected as 4 curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses of the Ministry of Education, 4 curriculum ideological and political demonstration projects in Jiangsu Province, 2 curriculum ideological and political demonstration majors in Jiangsu Province, 210 school-level curriculum ideological and political demonstration projects, and 8 school-level curriculum ideological and political demonstration major construction sites.
Adhere to the integration of industry and education, science and education, and serve the major strategic needs of the country. The school continues to integrate education, science and technology, and industrial resources, and makes efforts in school-enterprise cooperation, achievement transformation, integration of industry and education, and talent training, so as to continuously enhance scientific and technological innovation and social service capabilities. The output of major scientific and technological achievements has been accelerated. In the past 10 years, the scientific research projects presided over by Professor Kong Lingyi, Professor You Qidong and Professor Lou Fengchang have won 2 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 1 second prize of the National Technological Invention Award. A large number of scientific research workers in our university have built a world-class new drug creation and technological innovation system focusing on tumors, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular, metabolic diseases and other diseases, and helped 32 new drug varieties to obtain new drug certificates, 54 varieties to obtain clinical approvals, and economic benefits of more than 200 billion yuan. Build a platform for regional cooperation. It has hosted the "Belt and Road" International Pharmaceutical Industry-University-Research-Application Cooperation Forum for two consecutive years, led 62 units from 32 countries to establish the "Belt and Road" Pharmaceutical Cooperation Alliance, and served as the first chairman unit. Coordinate the construction of pharmaceutical disciplines in China. It undertook the first National Forum on the High-quality Development of Pharmaceutical Disciplines, and took the lead in establishing the "National Pharmaceutical Discipline Development Community" to give full play to the role of the university as a think tank serving the development of the national, local and industrial sectors in the field of biomedicine. Promote the innovation and development of global pharmacy education. Held the International Pharmacy School Development Forum, led 36 universities in 14 countries to establish the Global Pharmaceutical Development Alliance, and served as the first chairman unit, issued the "Nanjing Consensus on the Development of Global Pharmaceutical Education", and was approved by the Ministry of Education International Joint Laboratory, China Scholarship Council Scientific Research Cooperation and High-level Talent Training Project, China-CEEC University Joint Project and a number of national foreign-related projects.

Education is the great plan of the party and the country. When education is prosperous, the country is prosperous, and when education is strong, the country is strong. Education undertakes the glorious mission of educating people for the party and the country. Here, I would like to make three suggestions to encourage the teachers.
The first is to vigorously promote and practice the spirit of educators and bravely undertake the responsibility and mission of building a strong country through education. Advocating and carrying forward the spirit of educators is a necessary move for teachers to cultivate morality and self-cultivation, dedication to learning, and is to promote the work of education, science and technology, and talents, and provide basic and strategic support for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country. It is necessary to embrace the love for the three-foot podium, the expectation of lighting up the life path of more students, the persistence of every class, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and innovation, walking with the times, bravely and resolutely taking responsibility in the grand cause of Chinese-style modernization, continuing to write the glory of serving the country through education, and jointly contributing to the construction of a strong country in education.
The second is to keep in mind the original mission of educating people for the party and the country, and cultivate the pillars of the times. The majority of teachers should implement the requirements of building an education system for the all-round cultivation of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor and the formation of a higher-level talent training system from the height of cultivating socialist builders and successors, and insist on cultivating people with virtue and five educations at the same time. Teachers bear the heavy responsibility of disseminating knowledge, spreading ideas, spreading truth, shaping souls, shaping lives, and shaping new people. Our teachers should strive to cultivate pharmaceutical talents in the new era who have the knowledge, ability and literacy of "drug recognition, drug research, pharmacy, drug use, and drug management" and can take on the great task of national rejuvenation.
The third is to actively participate in the integrated reform of education, science and technology talents, and empower the high-quality development of schools. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China for the first time made the "trinity" strategic deployment of education, science and technology, and talents, and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made continuous arrangements for the overall promotion of the integrated reform of the system and mechanism of education, science and technology, and talents, which fully demonstrated the important position of the education country and the party's plan, and demonstrated the strong determination of the party and the country to build a strong country in education, science and technology, and talents.
