Teacher's Day Symposium:
Vigorously carry forward the spirit of educators and accelerate the construction of a strong country in education
On the afternoon of September 6, on the occasion of the 40th Teacher's Day, Central South University held a symposium of teacher representatives with the theme of "vigorously promoting the spirit of educators and accelerating the construction of a strong country in education" in the third conference room of the Science and Education Building. School leaders Yi Hong, Jiang Jianxiang, Fu Ganghua and He Jun attended the meeting, and 10 teacher representatives talked about their teaching experience and gains. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Jianxiang, deputy secretary of the party committee of the school.
At the meeting, everyone watched the video of the "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Strengthening the Construction of High-quality Professional Teachers in the New Era", and deeply studied the requirements of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the construction of teachers.
At the symposium, 10 teachers, including Li Huimiao, Huang Lingtan, Hu Yeyao, Xiong Xiaonu, Xie Bin, Han Haisheng, Lin Zhang, Chen Xiaobin, Zhang Jingping, and Lei Lifang, shared their experiences and insights in different aspects such as teaching and educating people, scientific research, social service, ideological and political education, and student growth based on their own work experience. Everyone said that they should internalize the spirit of educators in their hearts and externalize them in their actions, continuously improve the quality of education and teaching, and contribute to the construction of a strong country in education.
On behalf of the school, Yi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, sent holiday blessings to all the faculty and staff, and expressed sincere gratitude to all the faculty and staff for their hard work in their posts and their contributions to the development of the school.
Yi Hong emphasized that teachers are the main body of the school, and the reform and development of the school is inseparable from the hard work of all teachers. The majority of teachers keep in mind their responsibilities and missions, fulfill their duties, work hard and dedicate, and promote the development of the school to continuously achieve new results. In recent years, the Party Committee of the school has insisted on uniting and leading the majority of teachers, students and staff, closely relying on the majority of teachers and students, unswervingly promoting the "four transformations" development strategy, seeking development through reform and efficiency through reform, and persistently taking the road of connotative high-quality development. Yi Hong sent a message to the teachers of the school: First, further strengthen the ideal and belief of serving the country through education. The second is to further cultivate noble teacher morality. The vast number of teachers should combine teaching and educating people with self-cultivation, respect morality and self-cultivation, be strict with themselves, attend every class well, care for every student, and lead students to grow up healthily with their own exemplary behavior. The third is to further enhance the ability and level of teaching and educating people, innovation and creativity. On the one hand, we must always adhere to teaching and educating people as the first main responsibility, thoroughly implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people, spread the way of light, teach the profession of life, solve the puzzles of life, comprehensively improve teaching ability, continue to promote teaching reform and innovation, and guide and help students to better grow and become talents. On the other hand, we must bravely undertake the mission of scientific and technological innovation, always be in a state of learning, stand at the forefront of knowledge development, study hard, study rigorously, constantly enrich, expand and improve ourselves, and strive to make greater contributions to the national economic and social development.
Yi Hong requested that the relevant departments of the school should further focus on the construction of high-quality professional teachers in the new era, improve the working mechanism, strengthen work security, care for teachers, support teachers' growth, create a stronger atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education, and ensure that teachers can teach with peace of mind, enthusiasm, comfort, and tranquility.

On September 10, the award ceremony of the winners of the Teacher Teaching Competition of Central South University and the Symposium on Teacher Teaching Development were held in 505, South Building, Science and Education. Fu Ganghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Labor Union, He Xuhui, Vice President, 2024 Teaching Competition, National Competition, Provincial Competition, "Top 30" Award-winning Teachers, and teacher representatives of various secondary units attended the meeting.
Fu Ganghua and He Xuhui presented honorary certificates to teachers who won the national competition, provincial competition and the honorary title of "Top 30". It is reported that in the 2024 National Teaching Competition, Xie Bin won the first prize of the 7th National University Young Teacher Teaching Competition, Zhang Hong won the second prize of the 7th National University Young Teacher Teaching Competition, Zhou Leshan won the second prize of the 4th National University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, and Li Miaolei won the special prize of the 3rd National University Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Exhibition Activity. In the 12th Hunan Provincial University Young Teacher Teaching Competition, Hu Wengen and other 9 teachers won awards. In the 4th Hunan Provincial Teaching Innovation Competition for Teachers in Ordinary Colleges and Universities, 14 teachers including Zhou Leshan won awards. Ding Zhiying and 30 other teachers won the honorary title of "Top 30" in the 12th "Top 30" Classroom Teaching Competition of Central South University.
At the meeting, 36 teachers and teaching development teachers of Central South University were also issued letters of appointment. The 36 teaching development teachers are outstanding front-line teachers from all disciplines and different age groups in the school, who not only tutored a large number of teaching competition contestants to win awards, but also independently developed teaching training programs for teachers in different career development periods and different disciplines, so as to continuously improve the teaching level and education skills of teachers in our school.
The award ceremony was followed by a symposium on teacher teaching development. Mr. Xie Bin from the School of Automation shared his experience and preparation for the competition with the theme of "The Road to the National Competition-Experience Sharing and Perception of Youth Education Competition". Mr. Du Jinlong, a teacher from the School of Civil Engineering, shared the theme of "Working Together to Light the Light of Teaching", and encouraged the participating teachers to apply the gains in the preparation process to actual teaching and continuously improve the quality of teaching.
