The reporter learned from Nanjing Normal University that recently, Mr. Ugo ·Gatoni, the official poster designer of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games and a famous illustrator in France, and Mr. Zhu Yingchun, the winner of the "World's Most Beautiful Book" award, launched a cross-border artistic dialogue at Nanjing Normal University. Together, the two exchanged ideas from the East and the West, and explored the infinite potential of artistic collaboration.
Ugo is good at large-scale creation, using surrealism to show everything in his heart; Zhu Yingchun is keen to find inspiration in nature, and her brain is open to design "the most beautiful book"; Ugo's works are delicate and plump, while Zhu Yingchun's works prefer to be left blank. The different styles of artistic expression do not hinder each other's appreciation, but create a wider space for mutual communication.
Mr. Hugo · Gatoni and Teacher Zhu have many spiritual resonances. Creating a vast "universe" is the common starting point of their artistic creation: finding inspiration from the real world and creating their own surrealist world is what they have in common. It is the search for common ground while reserving differences in the process of communication that makes dialogue enjoyable and profound, and it is the art of silence that allows dialogue to transcend nationalities and languages. In the view of the two artists, art is not only an aesthetic experience, but also an important link connecting different countries and cultures, and art can be expressed in the most intuitive way to achieve exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
