3. The format of the competition

The competition is divided into four categories: intangible cultural heritage product design, cultural and creative product design, commodity packaging design, and beautiful rural construction design.

4. Participants

People from all walks of life who are enthusiastic about cultural innovation, creativity and creative design, and units or individuals engaged in the design, production and production of handicrafts, cultural and creative products and tourism commodities, including enterprises and institutions, colleges, design institutions and designers, students and design enthusiasts, can register collectively or individually.

5. Application acceptance

(1) Application materials and submission methods

Participants must submit the application materials and works to the Organizing Committee of the competition through the designated email before October 7, 2024.

(2) Summary and feedback of works

The Office of the Organizing Committee of the Competition will review the entries for entry.

6. Contest requirements

Entries should be innovative, artistic and practical, and at the same time should combine the regional characteristics of Guangrao County and the transformation needs of rural revitalization achievements in Dawharf Town.

(1) Design of intangible cultural heritage products

The works need to be deeply rooted in the core essence of the intangible cultural heritage culture of Dawharf Town, create and design the traditional intangible cultural heritage Dawharf reed weaving and thousand-woven shuttle old coarse cloth, combine modern design thinking, and create products that not only reflect the traditional charm but also meet the needs of modern aesthetics and practicality, and require the entries to have both cultural value and practicality, and be able to truly and accurately convey the value and charm of intangible cultural heritage.

(2) Cultural and creative product design

The works should have significant regional cultural characteristics, combined with characteristic cultural resources such as Guangrao County Sun Tzu Culture, Declaration Culture, 24 Solar Terms Culture, and characteristic industries such as rubber tires, and the design can conform to modern aesthetics and trends, serve the consumer goods and flagship products of modern life and work, and require the entries to be both practical and beautiful. Including but not limited to work and daily necessities, cultural and creative products, tourist souvenirs, souvenirs, etc.

(3) The design of the outer packaging of the commodity

Focusing on the special local products of Dawharf Town, such as Nongguyuan fruit and vegetable noodles, wheat germ oil, Yangshang red Jerusalem artichoke flower tea, cicada singing floral rose tea, hand-torn watermelon, Qiansang melon, Huize fruit and vegetable demonstration planting base tomatoes and other agricultural and sideline native products, Dawharf tiger head chicken, rice wine, palace fan, reed weaving, old coarse cloth and other intangible cultural heritage products, brand logo design and product packaging design, in-depth excavation of product characteristics and brand connotation, and injection of innovative elements.

(4) Beautiful rural construction design

Gaogang Village, Dawharf Town, carried out rural image upgrading, optimization and innovation, including but not limited to innovative design of wall façade, block culture, landscape sketches, village murals, etc.

7. Awards

There are a number of first, second, third prizes and excellence awards. And set a bonus of 112,000 yuan.

Intangible Cultural Heritage Product Design:

Second Prize: 3 winners, each with a bonus of 4,000 yuan + honorary certificate;

8. Schedule

(1) The competition is launched

In early August 2024, the competition will be officially launched, and the announcement of the competition will be released by Shandong University of the Arts and the People's Government of Dawharf Town, Guangrao County through the Internet, targeted invitation, etc.

(2) Collection of works

From August 15, 2024 to October 7, 2024, late entries will not be allowed to participate in the judging (based on the date of sending the email).

(3) Preliminary selection of works

From October 8, 2024 to October 15, 2024, the preliminary evaluation will be conducted. There is no proportion of the shortlisted amount in the first round of selection, and the quality of the collected works shall prevail.

(4) Final evaluation of the work

From October 16, 2024 to October 23, 2024, the first, second, and third prizes in each category, as well as the Excellence Award, will be selected.

(5) Expert review and publicity of award-winning works

In order to ensure the fair, impartial and objective evaluation and screening of the works, the organizer will organize relevant experts, well-known cultural and creative entrepreneurs, professional designers, etc. to form a review committee to be responsible for the evaluation of the competition. The shortlisted works will be publicized on the mainstream media platforms of Shandong University of the Arts and Guangrao County, and will be subject to social supervision.

Announcement of award-winning works: In late October 2024, the list of award-winning works will be announced.

9. Entry Requirements

(1) Method of submission

This year's competition adopts the online registration method. The organizing committee will review the application materials of the participants, and those who commit fraud will be disqualified from the competition and notify their units. The competition is a public welfare event, and there is no charge for the whole process. Submission email: [email protected].

1. All works must be submitted in electronic form at the time of registration.

2. Documents to be submitted:

(1) Renderings of the work or photos of the work or PPT of the work. (Required)

When submitting renderings or photos, the files should be in JPG format, color mode RGB, resolution 150dpi, specification A3 (420mm×297mm), and a single file should not exceed 10M; Please indicate the size (length×width×height cm) and material of the work, and please indicate the size, material and other information of each single work for the series of works. The renderings or photos of the works are used for judging, so the content involved is only allowed to present the information of the design, and the relevant information of the participants (including the names of the participants, signatures, photos, names of institutions, teachers, etc.) is prohibited.

(2) Other entry materials (required)

Participant's individual/group photo (simple background, no headshot, JPG format); Design description (within 300 words, word format, last note the name and contact information of the participant). The letter of commitment for participation shall be converted into PDF format after signing and submitted together with the entries.

3. If video or audio content is submitted, the audio format must be MP3 or WAV, and the file size should not exceed 50M. For video, the format is required to be MP4 or MOV (H.264 encoding), with a resolution of no less than 1080*1920, and only the entry files produced in 4:3 and 16:9 ratios are accepted, and the file size does not exceed 100M.

(2) Entry requirements

1. The content of the work must comply with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations, and the design elements are original and do not involve any form of intellectual property rights of others, including but not limited to trademarks, patents and copyrights.

2. The design must be original, have not participated in other similar competitions or activities, and have not been commercially used. During the Contest Period, entrants may not disclose, transfer or authorize their entries to any third party in any way, and may not use their entries to participate in other activities that are the same or similar to this Campaign.

3. The work is required to be rigorously structured, well-made, and profoundly culturally connotative. If the entrant submits a collaborative work for the competition, it is necessary to obtain the written consent of all co-authors in advance, and indicate all authors' attribution information in the work. Entrants must fill in the entry registration form completely as required, and if the information is filled in incorrectly or the contact information is not filled in, the participant shall be responsible for the inability to contact.

4. If the work submitted by the participant contains any content with the rights of any third party (including but not limited to portraits, fonts, pictures, etc.), the participant shall indicate and ensure that the written permission of the right holder is obtained. Any trademark rights, copyrights, portrait rights, reputation rights, privacy rights or other disputes involved in the entries shall be borne by the entrants or the corresponding participating teams. The organizer is only responsible for inspecting the quality of the work itself, and the copyright issues involved in the content of the work are the responsibility of the entrant. For all entries, participants are responsible for backing up or retaining the manuscripts, and the organizer is not responsible for the backup of the entries and will not return the entries submitted.

5. The author shall keep all the source files of the design draft, and the winner shall provide the source files to the proposition party after the selection activity.

6. The winner agrees to sign the relevant agreement (subject to the documents separately confirmed by the proposition party and signed with the winner) in order to receive the corresponding bonus; If the winner does not agree to sign the relevant agreement, the prize will not be awarded, the winner will only receive an honorary certificate issued by the organizer, and the winner's corresponding work shall not use the relevant information such as the brand and trademark of the proposition party to publicize, display or publish, if this happens, the proposition party reserves the right to pursue the corresponding legal responsibility of the winner; After the winner agrees and receives the first, second and third prize bonuses of the competition, the proposition party and the organizer will not pay the license fee separately or negotiate separately as the case may be.

7. The Organizer shall have the right to use the Entries for publicity purposes (including commercial publicity purposes) free of charge from the moment the Organizer receives the Entries, including but not limited to display, exhibition, report and publication.

8. The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation of this event. For matters not covered by these rules, the organizer shall formulate supplementary rules separately.

9. Participants should fully understand the rules of this competition, and all submissions are deemed to have fully understood and accepted the rules of the competition, and are voluntarily bound by them.

10. Results-based management

(1) The organizing committee will coordinate the contestants who meet the prospects of the industrialization of design achievements to connect with Dawharf Town and promote the transformation of design achievements.

(2) The organizing committee has the right to promote, display, publish and other forms of promotion and publicity of the relevant achievements of the competition. Except for the author's authorization, no unit, individual or third party shall redesign, produce, sell, publicize, publish, exhibit or other forms of promotion or publicity of the entries in this competition. The winning works will be publicly displayed at the relevant exhibition venues.
