Google's recent attempt to promote its chatbot Gemini through the Olympics was so controversial that it had to be taken down just a week after it went live.
The ad, titled "Dear Sydney," tells the story of a father who asks an AI to help his daughter write letters to her favorite athletes.
In the advertisement, Gemini completes a letter that was supposed to be written by her on behalf of the girl, an act that is accused of depriving children of the opportunity to learn to express their feelings.
Veteran journalist Victoria Song points out that such ads fail to understand people's perceptions of artificial intelligence, people crave authentic connections, and the preciousness of fan letters is that they convey the true emotions of individuals.
A senior media professor at the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University in New York, United States, also expressed concern that society's over-reliance on generative AI text tools could have a profound impact on the way young people learn to communicate.
While Google argues that the Gemini app helps provide a "starting point" for writing ideas and emphasizes that AI can be a tool to augment human creativity, these defenses have not quelled public criticism.
A Google spokesperson said in a statement that the company had decided to take down the ad after taking the feedback into account.
On August 3, Ledao Auto officially announced that its "Ledao Charging Map" has been officially launched.
At the same time, the "Ledao Thousand Station Plan" is also accelerating, and it is expected that more than 1,000 battery swap stations will be built within the year, bringing users a more convenient battery swap service experience.
In the follow-up planning, Ledao Auto plans to build more than 300 battery swap stations in a single month to ensure that users can enjoy the services of more than 1,000 battery swap stations by the end of the year.
In addition, Ledao Auto also plans to gradually expand the high-speed battery swap network, covering 9 vertical, 9 horizontal and 19 major urban agglomerations, and eventually realize the wide coverage of battery swap and energy supplement resources.
In order to better meet the needs of users, Ledao Automobile has also launched the "Ledao Battery Swap Wish List" activity.
From now until September 3, each Ledao car owner can choose 3 addresses on the map where they want to lay battery swap stations, and these data will be used as an important reference for the company to lay battery swap stations in the future.
In terms of products, Ai Tiecheng, CEO of Ledao Automobile, revealed that Ledao L60 will be launched in late September.
In August, the first Ledao L60 will be mass-produced and rolled off the assembly line, achieving the goal of delivery upon release. The L60 will be built on a 900V silicon carbide platform and adopt a BaaS battery leasing solution.
Depending on the travel needs, the L60 offers 75kWh and 100kWh battery packs for daily commuting, with a range of 555km and 730km respectively.
For long-distance travel, users can replace the 150kWh battery pack through the battery swapping service to achieve a range of more than 1,000km.
