Are you afraid of the complexities of a modern car? This SUV is for you, it hasn't changed in almost 10 years
The Suzuki Vitara is a tried-and-true classic that has been operating in the European market since 2015. Over the years, it has undergone minor modernizations, the last of which is mandated under new EU rules.
In terms of equipment, Suzuki Vitra must have more active safety features, stronger cyber protection or warnings for exceeding the maximum permissible speed. At Suzuki, they took advantage of the moment with subtle design touches and the implementation of a new infotainment system.
You can identify the modern Vitara by the black decorative panel on the front. The car fits more into the two-tone body that Vitra is known for.
These changes are not fundamental. From the front, you can mainly identify the updated model by the black paint trim elements on the front. The Vitara was one of the first vehicles to use two-tone paint, so our test specs felt a bit bland. We definitely recommend opting for a two-tone design, which is more aesthetically pleasing and makes Vitara stand out more, even if it still retains a more conservative look.
There is a practical button on the trunk door that you can use to unlock or lock the entire car.
Reliable four-wheel drive with a loss of appetite
Of course, another advantage of the Vitra has also been retained, and that is the combination of four-wheel drive and manual transmission. The 4×4 drive here can be used not only as a marketing attraction, but with the option to lock the inter-axle differential, you can drive the car over very difficult terrain. Since Vitara does not fall into the heavy-duty category, we consume a little more than 6 liters in a mixing operation.
When the situation calls for it, you can lock the inter-axle differential with a button on the center tunnel, allowing Vitara to overcome more difficult terrain. The ground clearance is 175 mm.
If you're not lucky enough to have Vitra yet, we're just reminding you that Suzuki maximizes its spatial layout. The space in the front is adequate, although you have to squint slightly in the back, but the basic volume of the trunk is 362 liters, which is enough. Vitara still maintains simple and functional controls. Yes, some might think that the cabins are outdated, with analog alarm clocks and historic climate control designs, but the wonder of the world is that they still work.
Large buttons on the steering wheel, separate climate control panel, analog dashboard. If you're worried about the intricacies of many modern cars, you'll soon love Vitra. In-vehicle functions can be controlled simply and safely, even while driving.
The rear seats are long and comfortable to sit on.
Infotainment changes
We also noticed a small change where the air conditioning vents on the upper part of the dashboard are located. Air blows from both extremes, and in the middle there is a new camera hidden behind glass that monitors the driver's attention while driving. The infotainment menu is new, but basically as modest as the previous model. However, it doesn't matter at all, because as a driver, you won't feel overwhelmed by the number of features, and you can navigate or switch radio stations or fuel consumption data very quickly.
The place used to have a clock and now has a camera to monitor the driver to see if he is paying enough attention to the traffic ahead.
The driver assistance system can be deactivated very quickly using the button set on the left side under the steering wheel.
The driving characteristics have practically not changed. There's not much to improve here, though, because due to Vitra's light weight, it's willing, fast, and steady to change direction, comfortable enough, and the car is snappy when the manual transmission, engine revs, and torque are at their best. Adequate. Compared to its slightly more expensive competitors, the Vitala is noisier when driving on the highway.
6-speed manual shifter. A machine is also provided in the price list.
verdict
Although Suzuki Vitra is an unassuming car, it has a great reputation for its practical features, good drivability, easy handling, and excellent reliability. Those who are not looking for a quirky car, but a practical one, will also be interested in Vitra for some time to come. It is already equipped with all the elements that a new car must have, and it is 4,000 euros more expensive.
