Manchester United have reportedly received a £20million offer from Fulham for Scott · McTomini after rejecting an earlier offer from the west London side.
McTomini has caught the eye of a number of European teams this summer, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both keen to sign the Scotland international. As Fulham continue their pursuit of the midfielder, his talent has also attracted interest from clubs closer to home.
According to The Telegraph, Fulham have submitted an offer of £20 million, £5 million more than they had previously rejected. However, Manchester United value him at close to £30 million and may therefore be reluctant to make way for a lower price. McTomini is an academy graduate who represents the pure profits of Manchester United if sold. However, he has one year left on his current contract, with the option to extend it for a further 12 months.
Last season, he made 43 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in all competitions. He also impressed during United's recent pre-season friendlies against La Liga side Real Betis, playing alongside Casemiro in midfield.
The Scot made his debut in Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal and came off the bench in the second half. If United allow him to leave, it could pave the way for PSG ace Manuel · Ugarte to arrive at Old Trafford. The France giant is also close to signing Portugal rising star Joao · Neves and are willing to approve a loan deal for the Uruguay international, who they signed for £50.6 million last summer.
Fulham, meanwhile, will sign Arsenal star Emile · Smith · Ronaldo for a record price for the club. The two sides have reportedly reached an agreement of £27 million, with the possibility of additional funding of £7 million. Even with the addition of Smith · Rowe, the Lodge team are looking for another midfielder after Joao · Pashiinha left Bayern Munich.
