Recently, Xpeng Motors announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation and joint development agreement with Volkswagen for electronic and electrical architecture technology. Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to develop industry-leading E/E architectures for Volkswagen's CMP and MEB platforms produced in China, with the first model equipped with this architecture expected to go into production in approximately 24 months.
In addition, Xpeng MONA's first product, M03, was also unveiled in July. The first model of the MONA brand was jointly built by Didi and Xpeng Motors, and the Didi team was responsible for design, part of the research and development, and sales. After Xpeng took over, he was responsible for R&D, supply chain and manufacturing, as well as sales to general consumers.
Previously, He Xiaopeng, chairman of Xpeng Motors, said in an interview that Xpeng will transform MONA with a Fuyao architecture that includes XNGP (all-scene intelligent assisted driving) and X-EEA3.0 electronic and electrical architecture. For MONA's channel construction, a "shop-in-shop" will be opened in the Xpeng general store in the early stage, and then a separate store will be opened for the MONA brand. In addition, MONA will also be sold to demand customers for operating vehicles such as ride-hailing fleets.
