On July 26th, at the invitation of the Bermuda Art Association, Bermuda's first ever Chinese painting exhibition - "Homeland - Zhai You & Fan Lei Classic Flower Art Exhibition" was held at the Bermuda Home Art Museum.
This exhibition features more than 30 Chinese paintings by Chinese artists Zhai You and Fan Lei. They use the natural scenery of idle flowers, mountains and rocks, river ponds, grasses, waterfowl and animals in front of and behind the house all year round as materials, reflecting the warmth and tranquility of the home, the harmony between man and nature, and the love of life and the perception of life.
With the "freehand spirit" of Chinese painting, the two artists show the Chinese cultural concepts of "the unity of nature and man" and "Taoism and nature", the positive humanistic spirit of truth, goodness and beauty, as well as the philosophy and aesthetic taste of oriental art, and convey to overseas friends the "harmony" culture of Chinese culture advocating harmony and good-neighborliness. The exhibition is co-curated by three curators from different countries: Ma Yue from United States, Paul · Ladisa from Italy and Yin Suqiao from China.

Gao Yun, founding vice president of the Chinese Painting Society and president of the Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society, said that over the years, Zhai You and Fan Lei have adhered to the concept of "integrity and innovation" in their artistic creation, and their works are "relaxed, elegant and sincere". As individual artists, they construct their own artistic system; As literary and artistic workers, they have made outstanding contributions to the prosperity of literature and art, especially to promote the art of Chinese painting overseas.
Lu Qinglong, vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, said that in this era of globalization, through the artistic practice of the couple, they have built a bridge of cultural exchanges between the East and the West. This exhibition is not only an artistic feast, but also a cultural exchange.
