The NBA announced Friday that Knicks forward Julius Randall was fined for throwing the ball into the stands after the Knicks beat the Boston Celtics twice in overtime on Thursday.

Byron Sprewell, the league's chairman of operations, announced that the All-Star player will need to pay $15,000.

The Knicks and Randle renewed a four-year, $117 million contract in August.

Randle scored 35 points in the Knicks' season opener and is just one assist and two rebounds away from a triple-double. When Randle and Knicks travel to Orlando on Friday to face the Magic, they will finish 2-0 at the start of the season.
