Born in Hong Kong on 10 March 1987, Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with her parents in singing classes and piano studies.

In 2005, she participated in the first "Singing Competition with You Music" and won the championship; in 2011, she signed a contract with Star Entertainment Records; in December 2012, she won the "2012 New Town Hit Award" of the "2012 New Town Hot Award" of the "New Town HotTest Award" of the "New Town HotTest Award" of the "2012 Billboard Music World" of the "2012 Annual Music Scene Pop Chart".
At about 2:30 a.m. on April 17, 2013, Chen Xiyi drove to the coastal Treasure Road overpass to Yau Ma Tei, and when she drove to the Hong Kong Post-secondary College, the vehicle crashed into the right shoulder of the road, rebounded and crashed into the overpass, causing serious injuries to her body, and died after rescue, at the age of 26.
On May 10 of the same year, relatives set up a shrine in BaofuShan, Sha Tin, and on May 11, the funeral was held in a Western-style ceremony. The spirit hall is based on her favorite pink color in her lifetime, and is arranged in a sea of pink flowers.
Chen Yiyi had attended a poetry class at Xie'en Middle School, and before she died, she mentioned to her sister that she hoped that her funeral would be accompanied by a poetry class. The relatives arranged for a thirty-member choir to sing live songs and send her on her last journey with pure singing.
Former friends and fans came to send the last trip. Stars such as Joey Yung, Nicholas Tse, Su Yongkang and senior executives of record companies also sent flower signs to show their condolences.
On March 1, 2014, at the IFPI Hong Kong Record Sales Awards 2013, Chan's album All The Best won four awards, and her sister took the stage to receive the awards on her behalf.
