This time in Paris, Yu Yan looks much lighter, and despite the long flight, she is still full of energy for the upcoming event, and this ancient and romantic city, which also exudes a soft and warm light, welcomes people from foreign lands.
Paris Fashion Week has always been a place for global fashion trendsetters, where people from all over the world gather to talk about each other's outfits and discuss the live shows of each brand. The brand show that Yu Yan was invited to participate in this time was Ottolinger, who is known for his deconstruction, reorganization, and wild and uninhibited, and Xia Zichen, who interpreted Chinese style with a modern approach. Walking through the show, there is no shortage of celebrities in the fashion circle, but despite this, Yu Yan still looks extremely eye-catching, both the designer and the photographer have expressed their appreciation for this girl from China, and Yu Yan's interpretation of two brand clothes with very different styles, like Gemini, seems to be contradictory but perfectly balanced.
Clothing is no stranger to Yu Yan, she prefers casual and comfortable wear in daily life, but after entering the work state, she can always control all kinds of exaggerated or avant-garde clothing styles. Whether it's a stage performance or a blockbuster shoot, we can always see a different side of the metaphor, and when talking about the fashion trends for the autumn and winter 2024, the metaphor gives its own answer: "It could be something like stockings, or something with a bright spot." For example, it is to wear all black, and then match it with a very bright color with a bright embellishment. Looking at the looks that Yu Yan has presented to everyone in the past, fashion does not seem to be a problem for her, whether it is a visually eye-catching stage color contrast, or a simple and casual street grace, she can interpret the atmosphere very well. However, Buddhism such as she also has her own absolutely unacceptable clothing style, "sweet wind" seems to be a challenge for the metaphor, in daily life, we do rarely see the pink and lovely metaphor, we are more familiar with the free, casual and free her.
In Paris, time seems to slow down, with crowds of people pacing the streets talking and laughing, and occasionally passing by a street corner, you can see people leisurely drinking coffee and enjoying the afternoon sun. However, it is in this slow pace that metaphors become more and more busy. In just a few days of Fashion Week, all kinds of things are arranged, but despite this, she has not forgotten the important things, and in the face of the career she loves, Yu Yan seems to not feel tired: "Actually, when I was in Paris, I was playing my songs all the time, communicating with the teachers remotely, but fortunately, the teachers didn't sleep, and there was no big jet lag." After getting off the plane, before she had time to reverse the jet lag, Yu Yan began to discuss her songs with the domestic production teachers, from the arrangement and sound effects to the style interpretation, she personally checked every detail, in the gap between the curtain call of the show, on the way to the shooting, she squeezed out time, all in order to seek the best presentation of the work. After returning from Paris, Yu Yan also said that he would release new songs as soon as possible and prepare for the stage in the future.
Moonlight after the morning and dusk exchange
In life, Yu Yan has not been troubled by the identity of an artist, she has always been casual, she wants to watch movies, she wants to go out to play, although most of the time she does these things alone, but this does not affect Yu Yan's love of life at all, she will wear comfortable and simple casual clothes into a movie theater to enjoy movies, and will indulge in the most perfect melody at home for a moment of inspiration.
For many people, how to balance work and life has always been a major life problem, but when it comes to the metaphor, this seemingly unsolvable equation is cleverly solved, "In fact, I have a good balance, because my life and career are integrated, and my life may be supplemented by my career." I feel happy because my career is something I love. In fact, from the first time Yu Yan stood on the stage, she realized the meaning of singing and interpretation for herself, in the face of love, hardships and hardships seem to have become a help, those shackles that the public is so shackled, those sleepless nights that everyone has seen or have not seen, those unimaginable high-intensity training, have been transformed into one after another ladder leading to a higher and farther direction, so that Yu Yan can stand on a bigger stage.
In addition to singing, when we asked if there were any other areas that she wanted to try, her answer was unexpected: "I'm a person who wants to do something well, so I don't want to try anything else, I just want to do what I'm doing." Her categorical tone seems to cut off all the back roads, and bind herself tightly to the music career she loves, perhaps from the moment she stood on the stage in school, the gears of fate began to turn, the so-called career is no longer a last resort, but a metaphor for the long life, focused and serious happiness.
At the corners of light and shadow
Regarding stepping on the stage to become a singer, Yu Yan looks relatively plain, she understands that it is not easy for everyone to work hard to live, and she also accepts all the public attention she receives as an artist. During the conversation, Yu Yan didn't express her emotions too much, but it is not difficult for us to feel that she has put a lot of effort into her dream: "I went to a competition held by the school, and I really liked the feeling of standing in front of everyone and singing, so later I would pay attention to the opportunity to stand on the stage and sing, and I would go to more similar activities, and I would look for such opportunities, and now I have become a singer." She is also calm and rational, constantly exploring in the field she loves, and gradually growing into the metaphor we know today in the process of trying and failing again and again.
When talking about her dreams, her aspirations are also related to her career, but she shows more of a childish side, and she hopes that all her dreams about work can be realized, such as being able to write better songs. For promotional activities outside of music, Yu Yan unreservedly shows the essence of "i-person", and when facing other public occasions outside the stage, she admits that she will be a little uncomfortable, but she will also try to balance the needs of work and her own mood to ensure that everything is carried out in an orderly manner.
In the ups and downs of the entertainment industry, after the baptism of tens of millions of people, Yu Yan still treats everyone with a sincere heart, every encounter in the vast sea of people is a beautiful witness, whether it is chasing or separation, she accepts it calmly.
OMNI: What's the difference about coming to Paris again for Fashion Week?
Metaphor: Maybe a little more leisurely than the last trip. This time I came to Paris for a long time, I went to many different places to take pictures, the hotels I stayed in were different, the meals I ate were different, and the show also had its own style, so I experienced more different kinds of fun.
OMNI: What kind of city do you think Paris is?
Metaphor: Paris is a slower-paced city. Either you are walking on the street, or you are sitting on a street corner drinking coffee, and you feel that the atmosphere of life is quite different.
OMNI: Which brands did you participate in this show?
Metaphor: This time, I participated in the show of Ottolinger and Xia Zichen.
OMNI: Tell us a little bit about what you see as the 2024AW trends.
Metaphor: I think the fashion trend in 2024 may be socks, it may be something like stockings, or something with a bright spot. For example, it is to wear all black, and then match it with a very bright color with a bright embellishment.
OMNI: Are there any clothing styles that are absolutely unacceptable?
Metaphor: Sweet style, magazine or other diversified shooting, I may be able to try, but I will never wear sweet style in private.
OMM: What do you want to do or where you want to go when you come to Paris besides the show?
Metaphor: It's just to take pictures, because I don't come often, maybe once a year, so I still want to take more photos for everyone so that everyone can see.
OMNI: If you could describe Paris in one color, what would it be?
Metaphor: Probably warm yellow. Many of the buildings in Paris are khaki, and then the sun is golden yellow, and when you shine together, it feels like the whole city becomes a warm yellow city.
OMNI: What did you pack in your suitcase when you came to Paris?
Metaphor: Filled with cosmetics, skin care products, clothes, selfie sticks, lamps, health products. That's about it, nothing else.
OMNI: What kind of style do you like to wear in your daily life?
Metaphor: I'm more extreme, either it's very comfortable, or it's a little bit more colorful. Because it is a Gemini, it is completely dependent on your mood to dress, but most of the time it is still based on comfort.
OMNI: What's in store after Fashion Week?
Metaphor: After the end of Fashion Week, I will go back and continue to make my songs. Actually, when I was in Paris, I was playing my songs, communicating with the teachers remotely, but fortunately the teachers didn't sleep, there was no big jet lag, and then it was time to prepare for the music festival and prepare the stage.
OMNI: What particular experience led you to become a singer?
Yu Yan: Actually, there is no special experience, that is, I went to a competition held by the school, and I liked the feeling of standing in front of everyone and singing, so later I would pay attention to the opportunity to stand on the stage and sing, and I would go to participate in more similar activities, and I would look for such opportunities, and now I have become a singer.
OMNI: What was it like to stand in front of an audience for the first time on stage?
Metaphor: I'm very excited, maybe the more people I have, the more energetic I am.
OMNI: What is an experience that you feel particularly proud of or memorable?
Metaphor: Maybe there are many opportunities in my life, and I can let the public see the highlight moments. Because artists work under the eyes of the public. Compared to other people, such as my mom and my dad, they don't get much scrutiny and attention from many people. So, in fact, many of my highlight moments have been spent in the company of fans and friends, maybe the highlight moments they think are the ones I am more proud of or unforgettable.
OMNI: Which is more difficult than singing or dancing, and how do you overcome setbacks?
Metaphor: I think dancing is more difficult, and singing is also difficult. The difficulty of singing may be in terms of talent, there will be some insurmountable gaps, such as timbre, this is a problem of its own conditions, I think this is inherently difficult. Dancing depends on the training I received as a child, I may not have experienced much training in this area when I was a child, and the very soft movements, such as front flips and backflips, I can't do it myself, and I think this kind of technical problem should be more difficult, and I will never be able to overcome it. Because there are some things that can only be done by practicing from a young age, and it may not work if you practice again when you grow up.
OMNI: Is there a moment in your memory where your life took a major turn?
Metaphor: It may be the time when I participate in the campus singer competition. When I stepped on stage, it could have taken a major turn in my life.
OMNI: Have you ever met someone who looks like a life coach? What inspired or influenced you?
Metaphor: I always seem to have solved my own setbacks and figured them out by myself. I think the people who can be regarded as mentors are my parents, they are not to enlighten me, but more subtly change my thoughts, build my personality, cultivate my interests and hobbies, I think only my parents can be called my life mentors.
OMNI: Is there anything new you'd like to try? Such as fashion design, accessory design, etc.
Metaphor: I am a person who wants to do one thing well, so I don't want to try other things, I just want to do what I am currently doing. In the future, I may try to develop some things that I have not done before in my own career field, which can assist my career, such as directing, cinematographer, makeup artist, etc., and give myself some bonuses.
OMNI: Are you open to bold and avant-garde makeup?
Metaphor: I personally don't care, I dare to try, but people may not be able to accept too avant-garde and bold shapes. I didn't care before, but I was a little worried about people's concerns or comments, so now I consider everyone's feelings.
OMNI: What type of MBTI is it? (Social Cow or Social Fear)
Metaphor: INFJ, I don't know much about MBTI, but I should be socially phobic, such as shooting magazines on the street, which actually makes me very devastated, but this is for work, and I can't help it, and I can't be too socially phobic as an artist.
OMNI: As an i-person, do you usually prefer to be alone? What do you usually do when you're alone?
Metaphor: I seem to be alone in general, and I love to be alone. I often eat by myself, go out by myself, watch movies or something.
OMNI: Do you have any wishes you would like to make come true in the near future?
Metaphor: I hope that I can become a person who can make my wishes come true, and fulfill all my wishes (laughs). This may be a fool's dream, after all, not all wishes can be realized.
OMNI: What would you like to say to your friends who support you?
Metaphor: I think I'm probably still in the process of growing up, and I may not be able to become what everyone wants all of a sudden. I hope you can give me more time to grow. Because it may not be easy to walk alone, I will grow as soon as possible, listen to everyone's suggestions, and then improve myself, release new songs as soon as possible, prepare for the tour as soon as possible, try my best to meet everyone's wishes, and also make you the one who can realize your wishes.
