Feadship is not only one of the world's leading manufacturers of custom superyachts, but also produces phenomenal volumes. The company discloses details of one of its projects every week. Since there are no less than four shipyards under its umbrella, all of them usually have several projects at the same time.
One of the latest projects recently unveiled by the Dutch shipyard is the "Thalassa", an 80-metre (263-foot) superyacht named after the goddess of Greek mythology, who symbolizes the sea. Like the yachts in the vast fleet of Fitstar Stars, the "Thalassa" project has unique features and facilities that make it a one-of-a-kind design.
The new yacht has an elegant shape and stands out on the water. The exterior is very different from what we are used to seeing Fertistar yachts, probably because it was designed by Malcolm McKeon, a designer known for his design of sailing yachts. His unique aesthetic and rich experience have breathed new life into "Thalassa". The ship will be built by De Voogt Naval Architects, while the interiors will be designed by the Milanese studio M2Atelier, a perfect blend of luxury and craftsmanship.
"Thalassa" seems to carry the blessings of the goddess of the sea, providing guests with a sacred feast at sea. The spacious deck and panoramic windows make them feel like they're in the ocean and enjoy the endless views.
The details of the yacht's construction are still kept secret, but it is said that it truly embodies the spirit of the Greek beach goddess. It's built with teak decks, a steel hull, and an aluminum superstructure, with streamlined exterior lines giving it a lightweight look. The dark hull looks stunning on the water, while also having the effect of lowering the profile.
The first thing that catches your eye is the extra-long foredeck, which gives the yacht a sporty look and enhances its visual appeal.
However, the real highlight of this new yacht is the extraordinary beach club, which is the best place for fun and relaxation. According to Fitstar, this is actually the most sophisticated beach club ever created in its 75-year history. Three large side openings make it 165 square metres (1,776 square feet) tall and seamlessly connected to the surrounding ocean, as if you were in a huge marine world.
The beach club is located directly below a large glass-bottomed swimming pool, bathing the entire space in filtered natural light. From the aft deck, guests can access this oasis of relaxation via a central floating staircase. The covered sunken area is equipped with a lounge and sun pads, providing guests with a touch of comfort and tranquility. Massive glass doors span the entire 13-metre (43-foot) wide hull, seamlessly connecting the interior and exterior, a project of breathtaking complexity that required additional structural force analysis.
The "Thalassa" project also has numerous other outdoor and indoor areas, combining luxury with craftsmanship. The details may soon be revealed.
In terms of performance, the superyacht is expected to reach a top speed of 16 knots and a range of up to 5,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Key figures include a draft of 3.6 metres and a fuel capacity of 194,000 litres. The yacht is currently on sale and is scheduled to be delivered by the summer of 2026.
Prior to this, the solar superyacht 713 project of Fitstar was successfully launched. Not only is the yacht HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) used, but it is also an important milestone in the construction roadmap of Fertistar to achieve net zero yacht construction by 2030.
