He was a mentor to his students

Although it is already summer vacation, in the office of Zhao Ling, the head of the mechanical department of the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering of Liaocheng University, there are still many students who ask him questions and talk about their hearts.

Zhao Ling, 41 years old, has been working at Liaocheng University for 12 years. In his view, the university stage is a critical period for students to analyze themselves and establish ambitions, and university teachers should use professional qualities and personality charm to guide students to grow into talents.

Zhao Ling's course is "Mechanics of Materials", which contains a large number of principles and formulas, which is relatively boring. To this end, he began to try case-based teaching, organically combining life scenes and teaching, making the classroom lively and interesting, and deeply loved by students. His lecture on Mechanics of Materials was listed as a demonstration course on teaching methods and content reform at Liaocheng University, and its successful practices were promoted throughout the university.

In the spring of 2014, a student in Zhao Ling suffered a traffic accident and was seriously injured, and his relatives could not arrive in time. At this time, Zhao Ling took the initiative to stand up and raised more than 60,000 yuan in cash successively to ensure the treatment of students during the 72-hour dangerous period. Because of the love in his heart, whether the student encounters difficulties in learning or life, the first thing that comes to mind is him.

Since joining the company, Zhao Ling has successively won the honorary titles of the second batch of college students of Liaocheng University, the eighth class of Liaocheng University, and the "upward good youth" of Liaocheng University.

He is the "desperate samurai" who devotes himself to scientific research.

Heterofiber pollution is one of the technical bottlenecks that plague the healthy development of China's cotton industry chain. Seven years ago, Zhao Ling decided to develop an intelligent sorting device to solve this problem, and found a cooperative company to start a painstaking research and development process.

The cotton processing plant is located in a remote village, and Zhao Ling eats and lives with workers in the field every day, and conducts research and development and testing day and night. In the summer, in the face of the sweltering heat and mosquito bites, he sweated like rain in the fields and never retreated. In early October 2018, after the equipment was assembled, he rushed to Miancheng, China, a ginning plant in Awati County, Aksu Region, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, for field testing. During this time, I can't remember how many times, he took the lead and drilled under the conveyor, cleaned the roller with his hands, and smashed the cement block that stuck the machine bit by bit.

Kung Fu pays off. What makes Zhao Ling happy is that the seed cotton heterosexual fiber intelligent selection machine led by him will be mass-produced next year, which is of great significance to change the current situation that China's high-precision processing is completely dependent on imported equipment and break through the bottleneck restricting the development of China's cotton industry.

Referring to future plans and goals, Zhao Ling told reporters that he hopes to cultivate more good students, bring out more "good seedlings", and at the same time, put more research and development technologies into the market and create more social and economic value.
